Sony Computer Entertainment America was founded in 1994 and launched the original PlayStation console which was a major success. Development began on the PlayStation 2 which continued Sony's dominance in the video game market. Later, the PSP and PlayStation 3 were both released expanding Sony's portfolio of gaming devices.
