Plans after
High
school?
Finally, every adults
favorite question: What are
your plans after high
school? Can have an
answer, keep reading so
you to can find out how to
answer this question that
popular among adults.
First things first….
Choose a path…
Do you plan on
going to college?
No, then what do
You plan to do for a
living?
Maybe. Well what
Do you want to be
‘when you grow
up’?
Yes. Then what
College and how do
You plan on paying
For your schooling?
Personally I plan to go to school, so…
The next step would be to pick your top
five college choices, for this you may want
to choose a major first. My personal choices
are as follow….
• Michigan state university
• Eastern Michigan University
• Concordia University
• University of Phoenix
• University of New York
Now that you’ve picked a college….
You have to figure out your budget plan, to do
that, you must know what it will cost to attend each
of your top five colleges. For that you will need to
know:
• If you plan on living on campus
• Where you live if you don’t live on campus and how
much that will cost.
• If you will be eating at school or buying your own
groceries, or whatever your case may be.
Keep going, you’re almost there….
• You need a budget plan, if you aren’t living on campus then where
are you living? What will it cost? What about food? Gas? You must
have everything, including a source of income, like a ahem, job. This
one I’ll leave up to you, but make sure to include:
• Food
• A place to live
• Tuition
• Supplies
• Textbooks
• Gas
• Possible doctor visits
• Possible car repairs
• Anything else that may come up.
Now that you know that…
If you haven’t already, then you need to choose a
career path, A major, a minor, and a back up
plan, especially if you want to be something that
doesn’t promise a steady source of income or
something like Medical school that isn’t
guaranteed that you’ll get into it.
• Major- Psychology
• Minor-Culinary
• Back up plan-English Lit.
Great! Almost done!
Okay so you have some great degrees and
a report card that gives you automatic
bragging rights, but now you have to
choose what to do with those degrees.
• Psychology- a human behavioral analyst
• Culinary- open a bakery
• English lit. – an Author
Beautiful! Keep going!
Okay now you have a fantastic job, a few
impressive degrees, and hopefully little to
no debt. Now the next step is getting a
place to live, I’m sure they love you, but
living at your parents house forever, isn’t
going to get you anywhere but lonely, so
use that great new job and save up for a
new place to live.
Finally!
Great, now you have your thoughts done
and written out, sure things may change,
life gets in the way, your interests change,
injuries for all of you athletes, that sort of
thing, but you don’t have to stick to this
plan to a T- remember its only just a guide.
