2. Step one – Sound Alarm
• Alert other colleagues about
escaped tiger including vet and
dart team
• Assess any potential injuries to
public, keeper or the tiger
• Locate direction of movement

4. Step two – Cordon off Area
• Securely close other houses to
prevent entering
• Make sure that remaining tiger
is secure
5. Step three – Evacuate
• Evacuate public through lower exits
• If public are in area of potential
danger place in secure housing until
animal secured
• Inform the local police and
emergency services of situation
6. Step four – Locate Tiger
• Vet with loaded dart gun backed
up with loaded rifle
• Using CO2 dart gun ideally in wide
enough location to sedate and go
down
8. Step five – Reach Tiger
• Aim to get to the tiger as soon as
it has gone down
• Have plenty of top up drugs to
hand as well as armed gun
9. Step six – Move
• Make sure that animal is still breathing ok
following anaesthesia
• Plan where animal is going and how
• Lift the Tiger into secure vehicle for
transportation
10. Step seven – Wake up
• Only if animal is secured back in
enclosure would 6ml of Atipamazole
be considered to reverse
• Stand everybody down
• Debrief
