Performance and Emission Characteristics of Graphene Nano Particle-Biodiesel ...IRJET Journal
This document presents the results of an experimental study investigating the performance and emission characteristics of a diesel engine fueled with biodiesel blended with graphene nanoparticles. Waste cooking oil methyl ester was used to produce biodiesel, which was then blended with graphene nanoparticles at concentrations of 20ppm, 40ppm, and 60ppm. The blended fuels were tested in a single-cylinder diesel engine. Results showed that the graphene nanoparticle blends had improved calorific value, brake thermal efficiency, and reduced harmful emissions compared to neat biodiesel. Specifically, the 60ppm blend exhibited the best performance with reductions in brake specific fuel consumption, smoke density, and hydrocarbon emissions of up to 5.37%, 9.

This document provides contact information for staff in the Georgia Army National Guard Environmental Stewardship Branch. It also summarizes recent activities and upcoming events for the branch, including welcoming a new environmental assessor, continuing energy reduction initiatives, and scheduled environmental officer training in July. An external environmental performance assessment will evaluate several facilities in the coming months.
The document provides an update on the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) in the UK and discusses a case study of the AECC Energy Centre project.
With the ESOS deadline approaching in December 2015, companies that have not taken action on energy audits have a few options remaining - conducting a full ESOS audit, using Display Energy Certificates, or pursuing ISO 50001 energy management system certification by June 2016. For most large organizations, a full ESOS audit or using DECs will be the most practical options to achieve compliance before the deadline.
The case study describes the AECC Energy Centre project, which will use renewable energy technologies like anaerobic digestion and hydrogen fuel cells to provide zero-carbon energy
Since the 1970s, energy efficiency in buildings has primarily focused on reducing operational energy. However, as buildings become more efficient, embodied energy becomes increasingly significant. With the rise in green building programs, architects and engineers are giving more attention to ways that reduce embodied energy. This paper presents opportunities to address embodied energy in buildings.
Muhammad Rizwan has over 15 years of experience in maintenance roles for power plants. He has worked at several major power plants in Pakistan, including as the Senior Manager of Mechanical Maintenance at a 234MW combined cycle power plant. His experience includes managing preventative maintenance programs, overhauling steam turbines and gas turbines, and commissioning new power plant complexes. He is seeking a new challenging position where he can contribute to an organization's success using his skills and experience in power plant maintenance.
This document discusses embodied energy of building materials. It defines embodied energy as the total energy required for a product's life cycle from extraction of raw materials through manufacturing, transportation, installation, use and disposal. It then examines how embodied energy is distributed in building construction sectors in the US. The document also describes an embodied energy calculator tool called Mbod-E and provides two case studies of its use in evaluating material selection for Cannon Design offices in Chicago and Washington D.C., allowing comparisons between the embodied energy of choices. It concludes that considering embodied energy alongside operational energy can help the building industry reduce its environmental impact.
The AECC Energy Centre project will showcase renewable energy technologies and allow the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre to be one of the most sustainable venues in the UK. The energy center will include an anaerobic digestion plant to produce biogas from food waste and crops, which will be converted to biomethane. A combined cooling, heating and power plant will use the biomethane and grid gas to generate power, heat and cooling for the AECC buildings. Excess biomethane and hydrogen produced on-site will be used for transportation fuels. The energy center aims to achieve net zero operational carbon emissions for the AECC through this integrated renewable energy system.
