Pizza Hut was started in 1958 by brothers Dan and Frank Carney in Wichita, Kansas with $600 from their mother. By 1971, Pizza Hut had become the largest pizza chain in the world. It was publicly traded in 1972 and was acquired by PepsiCo in 1977. Pizza Hut introduced delivery service in 1986 and pasta in 2008. Today, Pizza Hut operates over 9,000 locations worldwide as a subsidiary of Yum! Brands.
