Summary
High tank prices and temperature-mixtures makes many smart heat transition applications unprofitable
ThermoCube has invented a tank built of small pressure-less cells with material costs ~ 1.8 € / kWh
In the envisaged volume-range only a handful competitors exist with sales prices of > 14 € / kWh
There is a multi-hundred million € heat transition market for heat-buffers and smart thermo-batteries
The proof of concept is brought for each component and by a profit simulation for a thermo-battery
An European Patent was granted 2023 and the break even is planned already for 2027
We search for 2.5 Mio € for the ThermoCube development and offer 20% of our shares
Note: The thermo-battery is stabilizing the el. gird in the same as an el. battery, but with only < 5% costs

Problems of conventional Heat Tanks
Die Entwicklung des neuen Energiestandorts Süd | SWM Magazin
High hydrostatic forces require strong walls for the tank
→ High material-, assembly- and transport- costs of > 14 € / kWh
Source: (Haller et al. 2014,
10.18086/eurosun.
2014.10.13 [1])
Temperature losses due to mixture of
different levels → Energy losses
Conventional heat tanks are only profitable in applications with
• high temperature (>90°C) and
• > 30 refills each year
But this is not the case in most of the potential heat transition applications!

Solution: ThermoCube
6
Improvements:
Dividing the storage into small (almost) pressure-less plastic cells
The cells (big bags) are hung up on simple metal-carrier
An empty cell for transfilling
Benefits:
➢ Material costs of ~ 1.8 € / kWh
➢ Minimized costs for transport and assembly
➢ No temperature losses due to water mixture
➢ Controlled handling of fluctuating temperature levels
A smart thermo-battery is profitable, in which the tank-costs shall be amortized by
powering a heat pump / refrigerator only, when the electricity-costs are low

Product
Two temperature-variants are planned:
• ThermoCube70 °C
• ThermoCube90°C
Scalable volume ranges from 26 to 144 m3
→ Heat capacity ranges from 2 to 10 MWh
Durability is expected to be higher than 1.000 refills
Less than 0.5°C of temperature loss per day (at 0°C environment)
The filling and emptying time is less than 8 hours
Control unit with implemented heat- and price-driven operation modes

In the envisaged volume-range only a handful competitors exist: E.g.
Fa. CITRINSOLAR:
Fa. HAAS:
Fa. ENERSOLVE:
All of them share the same disadvantages:
High material-, assembly- and transport- costs of > 14 € / kWh
Energy losses through temperature level mixture
No profitable Thermo-Battery application possible

Market Demand per year (D):
• Heat-Grid Buffers = 8.000* tanks (a 50 m3)
• Process-Heat = 10.000 ** tanks
Market entry stratgy
Low-price entry strategy: The tank-price shall be
50 % lower than the competitor’s price
Planned sales:
Assumed 1% of market size
1. Market for heat-driven Applications
Grid-Tank
increase
Sources: * Report AGFW 2021 ***Dena-Buildings-Report 2022
** Market analysis by BVES 2022
Planned revenue (average):
4.5 Mio € in D and > 15 Mio € in EU per year
(after a start-up time of ~2 years)
Market Size per year (D):
Supermarkets, Hotels, Hospitals, Offices,
Industry-Facilities, Breweries, ….
Sum = ~35.000*** tanks (a 50 m3)
Market entry stratgy
Leasing-like “share-profit-strategy”
Planned sales:
Assumed 1% of market size
Planned revenue (average):
~8.5 Mio € in D and ~25 € in EU / year after start-up
2. (New) Market for price-driven ThermoBattery
In this application a heat pump or refrigerator is only
activated, when the electricity price is low

Unique selling points of ThermoCube:
Minimized material costs caused by dividing the tank into multiple
pressureless storage cells consisting of hooked-up plastic-bags
➢ Minimized temperature losses through temperature level mixture
➢ Minimized tank transport and assembly costs
➢ Price-driven storage control (real time) using predicted data for
temperature and el. costs
➢ Salt-water as storage media possible
Patent Status:
The new uniform EU patent was granted on 12. Juli 2023

Cooperation with strong component development partner
The sales-activities are performed partly inhouse, via specific internet sales portals and by our
development partner
Additionally, licensed heating companies shall perform the sales- and service- activities (EU)
Responsibilities of ThermoCube: SW Development, Quality Assurance and Sales
Only during the start-up phase: Integration, Assembly and Service (shall be outsourced)

Is provided for each component:
- Each sub component (metal-carrier, plastic components, insulation, hydraulic-components,..) was specified
and mostly a fitting component-from-the-shelf was identified
- A few components must be designed new (some metal-links, housing, insulation bag,..) and some must be
modified (liner enclosure, filling tube..)
For the 70 °C variant: Each component fulfills the criteria and the material price is ~1.8 € / kWh
For the 90 °C variant: A plastic-material analyses must be performed first to ensure its quality
Is provided for the thermo-battery usage by a profit simulation (attachment)
A profit-simulation for a price-driven combination with a heat-pump/air condition was performed for a
supermarket with the real temperatures and the electricity-prices in Germany from 2023
Result: Profit = ~60 € per year/m3 → Amortisation after 8.5 years, inclusive funding after 5 years
