The festival’s concept
entails the creation of a
great urban picnic which will
is flanked, on the one hand,
by concerts by promising
music ensembles from
around the city and, on the
other, by films, feature and
short ones, shown at the
specially designed open-air
movie theater.
3. the place
In the mid-2nd c A.D., the Roman Forum complex (total
area surface: 20,000 sq m), in the heart of the city, was
the administrative, economic, and cultural hub of
Thessaloniki under the Romans.
It comprised a cluster of public spaces and buildings
which were structured using a uniform architectural
concept. All edifices spread around a central square.
4. Roman Agora opened its gates to the Pic
Nic Urban Festival’ s attendants for the
4th consecutive year. More than 5.000
visitors went for an urban picnic and had
the chance to enjoy three days full of
music and great films/
