2. This fall, I am going to be a
Junior at Virginia Tech and
couldn’t be more excited! It’s a
school with TONS of school
spirit, where students are kind,
genuine, and enthusiastic!
Whether Vince Camuto is or is
not a particularly known brand
at this school, it definitely has
the ability to grow. Either way, I
am ready to represent!
3. At Virginia Tech, I am double majoring in Marketing and Communication. I chose
marketing because of advertising and the ability to be creative. It gives me so much
freedom! I’ve never liked following rules. I also like Communication because I LOVE
people. I am social and can talk for hours. Both of these improve my skills for one of my
concentrations: Public Relations.
4. What This Means to ME
As my college years are quickly coming to an end, I’m still figuring out what exactly I want to do with my
life. However, ask my mother and she will tell you my dream career description: working at a place
where fashion is important, and having style is a must. As I have grown into a young adult, this
standard still holds true, and I actively seek out opportunities that will make my career dream come
true. Being a campus representative for Vince Camuto is a great stepping stone for what will be a part of
my life after I graduate. You will not find another girl who works as hard as I do, and certainly one who
is not as organized. I love to plan, and watch my efforts unfold into my successes. My failures only make
me more aware of my actions, reiterating what I can do better. Within my two years at Virginia Tech, I
have already networked so much throughout Greek life and Virginia Tech’s business school, Pamplin,
that there is no way this brand cannot grow with me as a representative.
5. Passion for Fashion
Although it’s not a part of either one of
my majors, I have ALWAYS loved fashion.
Like marketing, there aren’t many rules
and I can do whatever I want with it. I’m
such a shopper, and there is something
about a new pair of jeans that makes you
feel 10 times better about yourself.
This summer, I was truly excited about
being hired at NORDSTROM in the
Women’s Shoe Department as a
salesperson. I have shopped at this store
since Freshman year of high school, and
still cannot get enough of it. I got to work
three incredible sales such as
Women’sHalf-Yearly and the Anniversary
Sale.
6. My love of clothes has exceeded my closet
space…and I have three closets! From shoes to my 25
pairs of jeans, I cannot get enough.
7. However, even though I have many clothes, my
favorite outfits are ones with pieces that I can wear
separately or together, with heels or flats. When I’m
in a rush after class and going to meet friends,
sometimes just a change of shoes from flats to heels
gets me ready for a night out.
Here is a Marc Jacob sweater paired with 7 for
all Mankind skinny jeans in ‘High Shine’ with a
fuschia Theory button up. I can wear it with
Sam Edelman flats (right) or Jessica Simpson
pumps (left).
8. “Going out” clothes are any
girls favorite kind, and most of
the time I keep it simple. My go
to outfit is a pair of jeans, heels
or boots, and a dressy top to
spice up the look. Even though
jeans are my go to, skirts can
also be seen on me…if it’s not
freezing! Here, in this picture, is
a new Ella Moss top I can’t wait
to show off. It’s just the right
style I like to sport on a Friday
or Saturday night.
9. As I mentioned, I was a salesperson
this summer at NORDSTROM, and
there I learned, in detail, about
different brands the fashion industry
has. However, just because I was an
employee didn’t mean I didn’t shop!
Every year at the Anniversary Sale, I
get at least one pair of boots. This
year, it was Vince Camuto’s
‘Brooklee’ boot in molten. It’s perfect
for the cold winter Blacksburg has to
offer, and the knee-high shaft height
adds just the right fashion statement
to my sweatshirt and leggings.
10. Alpha Delta Pi
• I got involved in ADPi freshman year,
spring semester, and have grown so
close to all my sisters. I have done
community service for our charity,
the Ronald McDonald House, and
have recently acquired the position
of Videographer. This position
requires me to photograph most
events my sisters and me participate
in, and make a recruitment video for
the girls rushing in Spring 2013. I am
also a member of the public relations
committee, which I was freshman
semester as well. Honestly, I don’t
know where I would be without this
sorority.
11. Other Interests
Date Parties and
Formals- Getting
dressed up and going
out with friends.
Running- Sorority sisters and I at the
Ukrops 10k in Richmond
Traveling- Aruba is one of my
favorite islands. I don’t plan HOKIE Football- I love my
on staying in Richmond my college, and the football games
whole life. are the best part of fall semester
12. Choose ME
Virginia Tech is the perfect place for Vince Camuto to grow, but it’s all about the right tactics. Being a
Junior, I have experience, and I know the key places on campus where students acquire information
most about new clubs, events, and every day news. Virginia Tech is already known for outstanding
food, and since the dining halls are one of the main attractions on campus, promoting at any four will
grab attention of students from all grade levels. The drill field, the center of our campus, is also a place
where many clubs promote. Setting up a booth in this location will get Vince Camuto noticed, but it will
have to stand out. I would play music and make loud, bright signs, so students can’t help but stop.
Third, being a part of Greek life at Virginia Tech enables me to reach out to a whole, new community. I
would be more than willing to speak to chapters about this company so the name would grow faster
and larger. Lastly, of course, I will use technology to promote status updates on my Facebookpage, and
a Vince Camuto page to let everyone know what is going on and what will be happening in the future.
Either on my computer or iPhone, it will be updated continuously!
