Internet has formerly been used to link ideas, then people and now it is starting to connect things together. IoT constitutes a good paradigm to enable people to design and modify things, and then sharing their designs and modifications. Through the internet, things are nowadays able to exchange raw data and information thus enabling the development of a new class of interconnected smart objects. In this paper a web platform for the design, co-design and sharing of smart objects is presented. The platform represents a design environment where physical shapes, sensing and actuation features, as well as functioning logics are integrated in a user friendly framework. A platform test has been performed in the context of the Maker Faire Rome 2013 demonstrating how the developed infrastructure acts as design enabler for both makers and mainstream users.
Among the various model based theories, the Gero's FBS framework is acknowledged as a well-grounded, effective and tested reference for describing both analysis and synthesis design tasks. Despite its design-centric nature, the FBS model can provide a valid support also to represent processes and tasks beyond its original scope. The specific interest of the authors is to extend the FBS application to model also uses and misuses of objects, interpretations of the users, needs and requirements. In fact, as partially addressed also in literature, some issues arise when the classical FBS framework is adopted to model particular aspects such as the user's role, values and needs, as well as to produce an explicit representation of failures and redundant functions. The full paper presents an extended classification of aspects, beyond the design perspective, which currently cannot be represented by the FBS model and some directions for its possible extension. Several examples clarify the scopes and the characteristics of the proposed model. The current state of development of the author’s work still cannot be considered an integrated model, but relevant possibilities to extend the domain of applicability of the FBS framework emerge.

This document discusses Ohm's law, which states that current is directly proportional to voltage and inversely proportional to resistance. It provides the equations for calculating current, voltage, and resistance in series and parallel circuits. It also discusses resistivity, conductivity, conductance, and the differences between electronic and ionic conduction in materials. As an example, it shows the calculation of resistance for a copper wire when its diameter is reduced while maintaining the same length and resistivity.

This document summarizes a thesis written by Bagus Bayu Budiarsa about improving the writing skills of eighth grade students at SMPN 2 Blahbatuh school in 2013-2014 through the use of team sentences. The thesis contains four chapters that introduce the background of the study, research problem, theoretical and empirical reviews of writing skills and team sentences techniques, the research method using a classroom action research design, findings and discussion of pre- and post-test results across two cycles showing improvement, and a conclusion that team sentences improved the students' writing skills.
Cottage industries are small-scale, mostly family-run businesses located in rural areas that produce goods through mostly manual labor. They employ fewer than 50 people and have a capital investment of less than 1 crore. Cottage industries are important because they generate employment, use local resources, promote regional development and decentralization, mobilize capital, develop entrepreneurship, and distribute wealth equitably. However, they face problems with financing, raw materials, marketing, technology, underutilized capacity, and other issues.
In automated production processes grasping devices play a crucial role in the handling of many parts, components and products. The presentation starts with a grasping framework: a classification of grasping phases, describes how different principles are adopted at different scales in different applications and continues explaining different releasing strategies and principles. Then the presentation illustrates the numerous sensors used to monitor the effectiveness of grasping (part presence, exchanged force, stick-slip transitions, etc.). Later the grasping and releasing problems in different fields (from mechanical assembly to disassembly, from aerospace to food industry, from textile to logistics) are discussed. Finally, the most recent research is reviewed in order to show the new trends in grasping that provide an outlook on the future of both industrial grippers and robotic hands in automated production processes.
Resistors can be classified in different ways, including based on their conductive properties, value, and composition. Linears resistors have constant resistance regardless of voltage, while non-linear resistors do not strictly follow Ohm's law. Resistors can also be fixed value, variable/potentiometers, or package resistors containing multiple resistors. Composition includes carbon, carbon deposition, high voltage ink film, metal film, metal glaze, wire wound, and ceramic metal resistors.
