• It is a short word we use as a simple
substitute for the proper name of a person,
object, or animal.
• Also, to avoid repetition
Example: “Every day, Tom wakes up at 7 o´clock. Then he takes a
shower and has breakfast at about 7:30. Sometimes he read the
newspaper after that ”
