Erin Stehlik's father was diagnosed with brain cancer when she was 7 years old. He underwent multiple brain surgeries over the next 9 years. To help support her father and raise money for cancer research, Erin wrote a letter to the American Cancer Society asking for a ribbon to honor her father. Her aunt then helped Erin make and sell magnetic ribbons, raising hundreds of dollars. Erin became passionate about volunteering and fundraising for Relay for Life. She became the youngest Relay for Life team captain in her county. After her father passed away from brain cancer at age 16, Erin remains committed to advocating and fundraising to end cancer through a career with the American Cancer Society.
