The International Olympic Committee (IOC) adopted Rule 40 in 1991 to protect sponsors from “ambush marketing,” corporate pursuit of unauthorized exploitation of Olympic brand without paying for it. In the run-up to the 2012 London Olympic Games, Facebook and Twitter’s emergence sparked an uptick in athletes hawking their own sponsors. The IOC updated Rule 40 in 2015, allowing unofficial sponsors to feature their sponsored athletes in campaigns while prohibiting Olympic location references and use of the words Olympics, Summer Games, other “Olympic-related terms,” official Twitter hashtags and logos. Per Origami Logic’s Brand Olympics 2016 Report, Instagram accounted for over 77% of total social engagement across platforms. While Nike (gold medal), Adidas (silver medal) and Under Armour (bronze medal) reflected 91 percent of Instagram engagement, did sponsorship give Nike a huge advantage? Two-sample t-tests in Minitab 17 proved otherwise, also revealing that Under Armour potentially had the most engaging content.

How can you improve complex video software when your performance indicators are highly variable? The answer is proper methodology, proper data infrastructure and analysis.
This document discusses the challenges of managing and analyzing large volumes of time series data from smart grids. It begins by defining key concepts like smart grids and their implications from different utility perspectives. It then states the core technical change as utilities now having to manage and analyze much more frequent time series data from many more devices. The document proposes that utilities need to provide analytics on this data 1000x faster while adhering to governance standards. It evaluates data structures like B+ trees and log structured merge trees to optimize for the high volume of sequential writes required to store the time series data.
WaterSpy is a system that uses wireless devices to monitor water usage and detect leaks. It collects hourly water meter readings and sends the data to an online database through concentrator devices. The online interface called Nemo allows users to view water usage statistics and set alarms. The system helps utilities and customers improve water efficiency and identify issues. It can also be expanded to monitor other resources using additional sensor modules.

1. The Next Generation of
Wetstock Management
from rack to nozzle
See all. Know all. $ave Thousands per Tank.
Perfect Gallon (PG) constantly analyzes every drop of fuel that flows through
your system to reconcile your unknown variance to less than 1 gallon per day.
It provides optimal meter drift coefficient reporting, audited deliveries to the
tenth of a gallon, and the ability to detect a 0.05 gph leak in minutes. No other
solution even comes close.
Reconcile deliveries to under a
gallon; know your meter drift
readings and flow rates in
real time. Imagine how much
money you could save your
company with this level of
information and insight?
2. Eliminate meter drift forever.
Catch issues with tanks and
lines in mere minutes, well
before a small leak requires
any type of remediation.
Audit every drop of a delivery.
Take the Perfect Gallon challenge today.
Contact Titan Cloud Software at
roi@titancloud.com or (615) 372-6000
A Superior Software Solution That Costs Less.
Perfect Gallon’s algorithm design concurrently solves for the two main sources of variance in
your fuel system: tank chart errors and meter drift. The manufacturer tank chart assumes a
near-perfect cylindrical geometry, which is not reality. Gross tank geometry distortions from
manufacturing, installation, and use over time introduce significant errors. At the same time, the
ATG is always giving you the incorrect volume based on its erroneous tank chart. Furthermore,
your meters are constantly drifting and you are almost certainly giving away fuel.
Simultaneous determination of meter drift and high-definition tank chart, while minimizing system
variance, requires new mathematical techniques well beyond the current generation of wetstock
management offered by SIR vendors simply collecting data more frequently. PG’s algorithm
transforms an NP-hard problem into NP through optimization using Simulated Annealing.
Fueling the PG algorithm is an open, advanced remote data collector or RDC. This RDC does not
require proprietary hardware. Titan has an app that can work on a variety of secure devices found
in a typical C-store. Perfect Gallon’s RDC includes advancements in security, reliability, and
frequency of data collection (readings collected 30 to 60X per minute).
The results speak for themselves:
Ability to constantly calibrate meters
(future=remotely) and eliminate loss from
meter drift forever
Variance to within 1 gallon per day
Delivery audits to within tenths of a gallon
Leak detection capability of .05 gph with
detection within hours, thus eliminating
remediation costs
3. Don’t take our word for it, take the PG challenge.
We would relish a competition with any of the old-fashioned SIR vendors at one
of your sites. Pick a busy site with an ATG that can accommodate two IP cards.
Install PG and the competition. After three weeks, compare our tank chart and
meter drift coefficients against the competition using third-party testers (meter
calibration and laser tank chart).
You’ll recognize them. All vendors who offer their own new brand of wetstock management
are simply old SIR (Statistical Inventory Reconciliation) providers; collecting readings and
reconciling more often. SIR began with the manual “sticking” of tanks for reconciliation
purposes. With the ability to capture more data more often, these services vendors now use
expensive proprietary devices to apply the same statistical method in order to “back into”
what might have actually happened to any missing fuel detected (usually days or weeks
later). After 30 years of SIR, we believe the SIR approach is at its limit (sort of like the Black-
berry phone). The underlying approach, math, and technology is outdated.
Titan Cloud Software began as a cloud and Internet of Things (IoT) company. Our technology
is currently in use at locations totaling half of the retail fuel throughput in the United States.
Applying Big Data analytics (e.g., machine learning, advanced statistical inference) to our
already renowned IoT/ATG software, we were able develop a revolutionary approach to
wetstock that supersedes other methods and models.
