This document contains a series of questions and prompts related to economics concepts like demand, elasticity, and determinants of demand. It includes examples of demand schedules and graphs to illustrate key ideas. Students are asked to analyze demand curves, identify price points that maximize revenue, and explain how changes described in various scenarios would impact demand. The document aims to help students learn how to apply concepts of demand, elasticity, and their determinants through examples, practice questions, and interactive activities on whiteboards and slates.
How do you keep your REST API documented? Online description? Or maybe a spreadsheet/doc? Think about how does your consumer discover it. Poor one is pasting URLs to curl or POSTman, right? And he’s mad as hell, as documentation is out of sync with code as soon as it’s written. Not to mention submitting bugs looks like an email ping-pong. It’s not 2010 any more, you know? Let’s jump into cool tools that will improve your consumers’ life and save you some time.
Dillon Moran passed away in 2011 at the age of 16. This document appears to be in memory of Dillon Moran, providing his birth and death years. The brevity and context suggest this is remembering someone who passed away at a young age.
The document provides notes and instructions for a lesson on the creation of the state of Israel. It includes objectives to describe the creation of Israel and provide a page of notes. It lists vocabulary terms and asks students to take notes on a 1948 document establishing Israel. The notes include questions about Theodor Herzl, reasons for an independent Jewish state, international backing, views on immigration and equality, and messages to Arab residents and countries. It also prompts students to examine a map showing territory changes after Israel's establishment on May 15, 1948. Finally, students are asked to contrast the founding of Israel with Mexico and create a memory trick for major Middle East countries.

Elasticity refers to how responsive consumer demand is to changes in price. Demand is more elastic when consumers have good substitutes and the good is a small part of their budget, meaning they will buy less if prices increase. Demand is more inelastic when there are few substitutes and it is a necessity, so consumers will continue to buy it even if prices rise. Examples of elastic goods include bicycles and vacations, while inelastic goods include insulin, baby formula, and gasoline. Firms must understand elasticity to determine how price changes will impact revenue and profits.

This document provides information about costs of production for a firm. It discusses:
1) Explicit costs require money outlays like wages, while implicit costs do not but represent opportunities forgone like an owner's time. Both must be considered.
2) Accounting profit only considers explicit costs while economic profit reflects all costs, explicit and implicit. Economic profit can thus be lower.
3) Costs are classified as fixed, variable, or marginal. Fixed costs do not vary with output while variable costs do. Marginal costs refer to the cost of producing one additional unit.
4) Total, average, and marginal costs are defined and their relationships explained through examples. Firms aim to maximize profits

What Are Your Servers Doing While You’re Sleeping?Tracy McKibben
You’re the DBA, the guy in charge, the guy who gets pounced on first thing in the morning with complaints of “my report took FOREVER to run last night, why?”, or “customers are saying the web site was really slow at 3:00am this morning, why?”. You’re expected to be able to answer questions like that. Can you? Do you know what your servers are doing when you’re not looking?

Real GDP of Travistan grew by 5% from 2011 to 2012, with 2011 GDP being $50 and 2012 GDP being $55. A fiscal policy proposal is recommended for the city of Tucson to build a new sports complex to attract a MLB team, which would bring $31 million per year to the local GDP. Building the complex would cost $100 million but sales tax collected on 5% of the team's revenue could pay it off in under 14 years. The proposal includes calculations for expected economic growth using the fiscal multiplier and analyzes whether to cut services or raise taxes to fund the project. Overall, the project is recommended due to its economic benefits.

It also includes directions for students to work together to list five events that may not have occurred if Germany had not revolted against the Kaiser, ending World War I, and to evaluate a propaganda picture using the OPTIC analysis technique.

Kwashiorkor and marasmus are two forms of severe malnutrition that affect children. Kwashiorkor is caused by a diet deficient in protein but with enough calories, leading to swelling and loss of skin pigment. Marasmus is caused by a lack of both protein and calories, causing extreme weight loss and muscle wasting. Both conditions require hospital treatment including feeding through a nasogastric tube to allow the child's body to recover.

Examples are provided of different markets and what type of market structure they fall under. Assignments listed at the end instruct students to complete problems and questions from their textbook and readings.
