The document discusses arguments made in a DOF article about sugar-added beverages and obesity. It finds consistencies that public policy and other measures are needed to address obesity. It finds inconsistencies between discussing overweight/obesity and obesity/diabetes. It argues the DOF article mixes different health issues without evidence and draws incorrect causal conclusions. No conclusions can be drawn from the DOF article's logical fallacies. The person's point of view comes from research but loses focus.
Obesity in America
Introduction
Definition of obesity
Causes of obesity
Statistics of Obesity in America.
Obesity is a condition where an individual have excess body fats leading to health problems. Obesity is an increasing problem in America with the rise in cases causing an alarm for the need to reduce the problem and promote healthy living. Statistics data released by health facilities and health institutions show an increasing trend of obesity in America. Obesity is caused by the uptake of high calorie food, genetic factors, lack of exercise and presence of underlying medical conditions.
2
Effects of Obesity
Low Quality Life
Increased medical expenses
Health problems
High Blood Pressure
Type ii Diabetes
Coronary heart Disease
Stroke
Hyperlidimia
Obesity has is associated with increased medical costs due to the health problems posed by the condition. Health problems associated with obesity are high blood pressure due to the high fat content deposited in the blood vessel lining. It also causes coronary heart disease, diabetes, stroke among many others. The condition also contributes to low quality life with high chances of causing death.

Cause
Results from body storing excess energy in form of stored fats, thus by reducing intake can be a control measure.
Regulation of food intake as researched by professional cannot sustain control of increases in cases of obesity in society today. several factors interactions contribute to the situation. the causes have to first be understood. While most of the obesity cases are caused by excess consumption of food by an individual, it is also clear that some conditions are caused by more than excess consumption. This may include genetic, or other body disorders. The prevalence of the problem is increasing instead of reducing. Obesity rates have increased across all the population groups in the United States. It is therefore important to approach the problem from a different perspective.
Challenges being experienced can be grouped into the following major levels.
Intrapersonal Level
Interpersonal Level
Community/Institution Level
Macro/Public Policy Level
Medics and nutritionists have viewed the problem continuously as it could be solved through reducing the amount of food intake. However, body’s regulation of food consumption is not enough to deal with the epidemic. It is not a matter of the obese people decision to eat less food than they have been doing. It has been seen that obesity can be reduced through a different treatment of the problem. This may involve first deciding the root cause that triggers a person to eat so much food.

Welcome to the Program Your Destiny course. In this course, we will be learning the technology of personal transformation, neuroassociative conditioning (NAC) as pioneered by Tony Robbins. NAC is used to deprogram negative neuroassociations that are causing approach avoidance and instead reprogram yourself with positive neuroassociations that lead to being approach automatic. In doing so, you change your destiny, moving towards unlocking the hypersocial self within, the true self free from fear and operating from a place of personal power and love.

1. 1. What are the arguments of the DOF article?
The high consumption of sugar-added beverages contributes notoriously to excess energy intake
and is an important factor in the development of overweight and obesity.
2. Which consistencies and inconsistencies did you find in the document?
Consistencies: To address obesity, not only public health policy is needed, but other measures.
Inconsistencies: Sometimes, it is mentioned overweight and obesity, but afterwards it is said
“obesity and diabetes control”. There is no causality between obesity and diabetes.
Meanwhile, it is uncertain that fiscal measures can result in consumption decrease of flavored
beverages.
3. What biases or errors did you find in the arguments?
The argument mixed everything up: obesity, overweight, diabetes, etc. It is convinced that there
is a causality between consumption of sugar-added beverages and obesity, and between fiscal
imposition and decrease of obesity. In particular, no data or evidence supports them.
4. Can conclusions be drawn from the arguments?
No, I don’t think so, as the arguments show obvious logical fallacies.
5. Is the person’s point of view derived from his or her research?
Yes, he/she tries to touch every angle of the problem, however, this person lost focus and derived
from the main topic which makes the arguments unstable.
6. How are you ordering your own arguments?
First, I’ll generally introduce the problem to be addressed. Then, I’ll explain the reasons why the
problem incurred. Third, I’ll propose potential solutions by offering solid back-up material, such
as research paper, data, etc. The very last step is to drawa conclusion.
