Instructions, Examples, Specifications, and Grading
This section requires you to review your upper-level course work 3000-level and above. Think about what classes you took and what accomplished in them. The successful Curriculum section is about showing rather than just telling. This is your time to show off your best work, focusing on particular skills. For example, pick an assignment (project or paper) where you did a particularly strong job. Fully describe your work. Prove that you can do what you say you can do. This involves making the important distinction AWAY from just a list of your courses and what you did in them—to who you are as a professional and a creative problem solver.
As you list and discuss your advanced course work, you’ll give your readers a glimpse into (1) what you know, as well as what skills you have developed (2) how you have met (or can meet) challenges, (3) how you can help others.

In my American Government Class, I was assigned to analyze an issue within an area of environmental policy and propose a solution. This project required research and writing skills, policy analysis, and critical thinking. I chose to write about the environmental policies and problems associated with the practice of industrial agriculture. This particular area of environmental policy is one that I continue to independently research, and I am passionate about educating others on the existence of this problem. In my appendix, I have uploaded my Environmental Policy paper “Industrial Farms and Florida’s Algae Crisis: Myths and Facts We All Need to Understand.” In that paper, my research helped me to explain how some of the information about algae blooms is hype and hysteria, but other information matters a lot, if we are going to have government policies and regulations that protect drinking water and tourism. Outside of class, I have written two letters to the editor about this issue. I sent one letter to the Miami Herald (It wasn’t published but I think I raised important points) and I sent another letter to The Beacon, FIU’s student-run newspaper. That editorial letter was published in June 2019. Copies of both letters are in the appendix to this report.
In my Environmental Engineering class, one main assignment had us analyze how climate change affects a topic of my choice, then write and send a letter to a politician about my findings and make educated policy recommendations. I chose to research how climate change effects cities and the strategies that are being used now to develop climate-friendly cities. I wrote my letter to the governor of Florida. For the purposes of this report, I have attached my annotated bibliography for the assignment to showcase the research that went into the letter. I thoroughly enjoyed this assignment, and it is one of the reasons that I got interested in incorporating sustainability in my future career path.

WRITER
Social networking dilemma arises when the society is unable to contain the advantages and disadvantages of using social media which apparently occur simultaneously. The use of social media is raising so many ethical issues among them the privacy of one’s life.
Social networking is the use of a dedicated application or website to reach a target audience, the main purpose being to communicate. The growing need for social networking is apparently raising the social dilemmas. The dilemmas include violation of privacy, bullying, misrepresentation, and creepiness just but a few. Invasion of privacy involves access to personal data either found on sites such as Facebook and even the data on bank cards. For the most part, the data is protected from unauthorized users, but the dilemma arises when the firm with which you have stored the information shares the data with other firms without your consent for marketing purposes. Such is the scenario where you begin to receive marketing features which relate to your spending pattern, which implies that there is a third party monitoring your transactions. This intrusion of privacy creates a pathway for continued bullying, misrepresentation, and creepiness. Businesses also experience the same challenge. But what can businesses do and how can they design approaches that regulate and control social networking dilemma to maintain ethics both in the business and in the society? This proposal, therefore, seeks to explain the ethical dilemma issues as well as bringing to perspective corrective measures to correct on social dilemma issue.
Spamming too with the aim of promoting a certain link has the problem of increasing the risk of possible hacks. Twitter and Facebook are common means through which individuals and firms promote a product, but this feature is turning to be a passage where individuals can hack into people’s data. Therefore the communication process becomes threatened. Other risks include dishonesty and distortion, improper anonymity and distorted endorsement, opportunism, and misuse of free expertise and contests.
The proposed solution to the social networking dilemma includes risk assessment, establishing policies and procedures, communication and education, monitoring an auditing and performing oversight role. Risk assessment in business and personal social networking will involve a review of the current social networking platforms and issues. This review will help to identify the recently introduced features and how they are being used. The reason being that the social media environment tends to change quickly, and as such, it is important to remain updated. Risk assessment also provides the person and the firm an idea of the possible risks that are associated with the use of social media.
Policies act as a guide towards implementation of actions by employees especially in the use of social media because employees represent the face of the organization. Other ways in which the company .

The
Assessment
must include epidemiological methods including, but not limited to the following items:
Descriptive information on the target population (e.g., age, gender, culture, ethnicity) and location (e.g., city, town, state).
Identification through assessment means of the health issue/problem and how it has affected the target population (information on impact could come from mortality and morbidity reports, academic research, etc. Avoid using online sources such as WebMD. Government sources are fine, but the Ashford Library’s journal collection is the best means to discover data on health impact.)
Risk factors as outlined by epidemiological means (risk factors include social and behavioral determinants within the community or among the population that contributes to or ameliorates this problem).
Other demographic information outlined by epidemiological assessment measures.
Explain how the two essential services that revolve around assessment are applied to this health problem: 1) Monitor Health and 2) Diagnose and Investigate. These two services ensure that a community’s health assessment is accurate.
Policy Development Actions
Describe what has been done in general to address the issue (e.g. resources, facilities, organizations). Locate scholarly sources from the Ashford University Library to help you address what has already been done to address the issue.
Describe what has been done specifically in the community/city/town/state your team is researching to address this issue (e.g., programs and interventions or the creation of organizations to address the issue).
Existing Policies. Analyze the policies that currently exist to resolve the problem. For example: seatbelts were required by car manufacturers to reduce injuries and deaths from car accidents.
Policy Development. Discuss new policies that should or could be developed to better address the issue. For example: some communities do not fluoridate their water systems and developing such a policy could help reduce dental caries.
Identify Stakeholders and potential facilitators. Are there leaders and/or organizations within this community that can be identified and assist with the policy development? Who are they and why would you specifically select them?
Explain how the three essential services that fall into the Policy Development category are applied to your health problem: 3) Inform, Educate and Empower; 4) Mobilize Community Partnerships; and 5) Develop Policies.

Assurance Activities
: Now that the assessment and policy development actions have been outlined, provide assurances to the affected community that what has been or will be done will be effective and sustaining. With each of the four essential services associated with assurance, analyze how these factors will be applied to the selected health problem for this population. The key terms in eac.

identification of comorbid diagnoses in children with ADHD. Clinical Pediatrics, 54(4): 376-381.
The authors examine ADHD children with relevant comorbid conditions and medication prescribing habits based on comprehensive neurodevelopmental evaluations versus insurance limited evaluations to behavior management and medication. This was done using a retrospective review of medical records at the Center for Development and Learning Clinic. Data for demographics, comorbidities, medications, and interventions were analyzed for associations between groups. Results demonstrated that kids who received comprehensive evaluations had a greater degree of diagnosis for comorbidities. This stimulates the question of income levels and comprehensive evaluations in ADHD kids and comorbid conditions.

The authors examined the impact on parents who have a child with ADHD and comorbidities. Using the National Survey of Children’s Health dataset, they conducted a bivariate, multivariate, and descriptive analysis to look for associations between kids with ADHD and comorbid conditions and the strain on parents, social support, mother’s mental health, and local amenities. Results showed an increase in parental strain when caring for an ADHD child with a co-occurring condition. It also showed that lack of social support and lack of access to community amenities were predictors of increased parental strain. This study demonstrates the impact on the health of caregivers to ADHD children with comorbidities.

The authors examined the psychotropic medications usage of low-income kids who have been diagnosed with ADHD comparing those with and without comorbid conditions. The New York State Department of Health Medicaid Encounter Data System was used to extract information on 6,922 kids 3-19 years of age. A multivariate logistic regression was conducted to look at associations between ADHD with comorbid conditions and medication usage. Results showed the strongest predictors of medication use to be comorbid conditions and Social Security Income Medicaid eligible status. This study stimulates the question of the possibility for ADHD children with comorbidities to have treatment variations based on income status.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Analysis of the official resolution to implement the IEPS tax, to sugar beverages
1. What are the arguments of the DOF article?
• “The high consumption of sugar-added beverages contributes notoriously to excess
energy intake and is an important factor in the development of overweight and obesity
in Mexico”
• “the high prevalence of overweight and obesity represents an enormous public health
issue in Mexico”
• “it is essential to reinforce effective policies and programs for obesity prevention. In this
sense, any effort to diminish the adverse effects of this situation and the cost involved
for its treatment should be analyzed not only from a purely public health policy, which is
why a fiscal measure will most likely contribute to the aforementioned purposes.”
2. Which consistencies or inconsistencies did you find in the document?
In this case, problem is the overweight and obesity problem in Mexico, representing a public
health issue. The root cause for it is attributed to the consumption of sugar added soft drinks, and a
financial tax is imposed on them. While sugar added soft drinks may be a key factor for the growth of
the problem, there might be other multiple factors at play, also no statistics or concise data is
mentioned. Moreover, raising taxes on this kind of products might not be the proper solution for the
problem.
3. Which biases or errors did you find in the arguments (bad arguments, fallacies, omissions,
false inferences and deceptive statistics)?
The text only contains superlative language pointing towards the problem and no demographic
information, neither related to the consumption of sugar added soft drinks is provided.
4. Can conclusions be drawn from the arguments?
It would not be wise, more information on the root cause and the impact of both the problem
and proposal of solution should be laid out.
2. 5. Is the person’s point of view derived from his or her research?
The text mentions root cause-effect phenomena but does not provide for clear information that
explains that relationships, so it might not be derived from proper research, and if so, it is not
adequately backed by the information of it.
6. How are you ordering your own arguments (to avoid being unfocused)?
First, I understood the purpose of the exercise to know how to take on the task. Then I read
