Peace Education Framework
• Global Citizenship and Peace
Education (GCED) – ability of the
learners to demonstrate knowledge,
skills, and attituded that include
tolerance towards other cultures and
societies, crusader of peace and
cooperation, and advocates of
human rights (UESO, 2014)
It provides learners the competencies and
opportunity to realize their rights and
obligations to promote a better world and future
for all
• Transversal Competencies – skills
that are typically considered as
not specifically related to a
particular job, task, academic
discipline or area of knowledge
and that can be used in a wide
variety of situation and work
settings e.g. organizational skills -
UNESCO
• 21st Century Skills – are the
knowledge, skills, attitudes, and
competencies that learners
need to develop so that they
can prepare for and succeed in
work and life in the 21st century
