UNOFFICIAL RULES Unofficial rules/ unwritten rules are rules that do not have to be done but should be done to show good etiquette and sportsmanship.  For example, if a player is injured on the pitch in football, the opposition should kick the ball out of play to allow medical staff to attend to the injured player.
