David Zhang served as a summer intern with the Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) Business Services Group. His supervisor, Andrew Carlstrom, provides a positive evaluation of his work. Zhang performed tasks including researching, collecting, formatting and checking data, scanning records, filing records, and observing a transportation revenue meeting. Carlstrom notes that Zhang was diligent, detail-oriented in organizing data, and had an exemplary work ethic and ability to learn. David Zhang served as a Summer Works intern with the Portland Bureau of
Transportation (PBOT), Business Services Group, during the summer of 2014.
During this period, I served as his functional/City supervisor, assigned him work
tasks, connecting him to others who provided him work tasks, and approved his
submitted timesheets.
David performed a number of duties within PBOT's Business Services group. In
summary, he researched, collected, formatted, and checked data; he scanned
records; he filed records; and he participated as an observer in a transportation
revenue public meeting.
David is both very diligent and very detail-oriented. His work in organizing,
formatting, and checking data for Business Services' development of 20-year
financial projections was outstanding. Similarly, his performance in scanning
records was also excellent.
David has a very positive attitude, an exemplary work ethic, and has an impressive
ability to learn. And although his work at PBOT this summer was primarily related
to entering and processing data, he also exhibited skill in creating summary
content; I asked him to send me a re-cap of his observations of a transportation
revenue workgroup meeting, and the writing in his emailed response was very
clear, concise, and insightful.
Without hesitation, I would highly recommend David for another Summer Works
