The Participatory Budgeting (PB) Steering Committee drafted a mission statement with the purpose of deepening local democracy and community resilience by guaranteeing an equitable and effective public budget process for all Davidson County residents. The committee will establish a framework for participatory budgeting in Davidson County through brainstorming, designing, overseeing, and implementing budget models that support inclusion, transparency, and equity for all residents, including disadvantaged groups.

Evelyn Burnett and Mordecai Cargill presented at IDEALAB Movement Makers 2017 representing Cleveland Neighborhood Progress, an intermediary with a mission of fostering communities of choice and opportunity throughout the city. CNP and engaged partners embarked on a learning journey to increase their shared understanding of racial inequality, to foster productive dialogue among community stakeholders and civic leaders and to determine strategies.

This community planning project in West Carleton aimed to develop supports for healthy aging in place and enhance rural vitality. Key outcomes included:
- Increased ability for seniors to age in place through new transportation supports, social groups, communication networks, and knowledge of existing services.
- Increased volunteering, community leadership, and partnerships through engagement activities.
- Creation of an action plan and ongoing task group to continue working on priorities like affordable transportation, caregiving supports, respite programs, and home care.
