multiple sclerosis, and Alzheimer's disease.
In partnership with philanthropist Michaela “Mikey” Hoag, the Alzheimer's
Association announced plans to invest $7 million in a scientific challenge,
hoping to expedite drug research into neuroinflammation and its role in
Alzheimer's disease. Four qualifying clinical drug trials will receive $1 million
each from the "Part the Cloud" (PTC) challenge on neuroinflammation,
allowing them to further their progress in advanced trials. The study that
demonstrates the most potential in treating Alzheimer's will receive an
additional $3 million.
The PTC program relies on the support of donors and volunteer fundraising
efforts to fill the gap in research funding. By absorbing some of the financial
risks, PTC facilitates exploration of this facet of Alzheimer's. To contribute or
