Nutritional Education
One of the critical parts of providing care to women during gestation period is nutritional education (Bedgood, 1983). There exists a correlation between the health of a mother and her child and the nutritional education she receives during her gestation period. Adhering to a nutritional plan provided by the doctor may be challenging if the mother is not properly educated on the need of proper nutrition as well as how to take the nutritious food.
My education teaching session of the client will be done during the first Saturdays of every month throughout the gestation period. The main objective of the teaching education sessions is to help the client transition to the newly modified diet. The client is expected to come along with her husband for the sessions. The teaching sessions have been scheduled on Saturdays of every month to correspond to her clinic appointments. Apart from helping her transition smoothly to a prescribed diet, the session will also allow me to assess her health condition particularly her recovery process. Any changes in her diet plan will be made during these sessions based on how she responds.
The method of teaching will be verbal and visual. Passing information verbally is direct and will give her opportunity to ask questions and engage in meaningful discussions. Visuals learning will be provided to help her engage better with materials as well as to boost her thinking skills throughout the learning sessions. Each learning session is scheduled to last for three hours. Different ways of preparing food will be demonstrated during the program. I also expect questions from the husband and her concerning ways of supporting her through the gestation period to ensure that she takes the right diet in the right quantities and at the right time.
Goals of The Nutrition Education Teaching Session:
· Smooth transition from regular diet to the prescribed nutrition plan. This involves developing a positive attitude towards healthy eating and providing motivation.
· Healthy mental being through positive thinking and engagement in various activities. A healthy diet goes in hand with maintaining a positive mental health.
· Assist the client on ways in which she can source dilatory foods without spending a lot of resources. Based on her financial condition, she needs to understand how source food with the limited resources.
· The program will teach her how to prepare various foods without destroying the nutrients required by the body. For example, avoidin.

Recently, Autism has become a serious health concern to parents. According to Center for Disease Control and Prevention (2018), about one in fifty nine United States children has been identified with autism spectrum disorder with one in six children developing developmental disability ranging from mild disabilities such as speech and language impairments to serious developmental disabilities, such as intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy, and autism (CDC,2018). World Health Organization (2019) estimates that 1 in 160 children globally has autism making it one of the most prevalent diseases. Despite the disease prevalence, most population has little knowledge about the disease. Many health practitioners have proposed early care as a means to control the disease effects.
Purpose Statement
The purpose of this study is to determine whether early intervention services can help improve the development of children suffering from autism. This study also aims to explore the general public awareness and perception about autism disorder.
Research Questions
(1) How should service delivery for autistic patients be improved to promote their health? (2) What impact does early intervention services have on development of children suffering from autism? Explain the role of health education in health promotion. How is the nursing process used in developing health education? Describe a contemporary issue, local or global, that a family may experience today. What steps would the nurse take to address these as part of a health education plan?
The role of health education in health promotion is vital. Health promotion by definition is “educating people about healthy lifestyles, reduction of risk, developmental needs, activities of daily living (ADL’s) and preventive self-care.” (Whitney et al., 2018). In order to live a healthy lifestyle an individual must know what a “healthy lifestyle” consists of. The same goes for reducing risks, ADL’s, preventative self-care and developmental needs. It is important for the healthcare professional or in our case, the nurse, to educate an individual continuously for the duration of the patient's care with the nurse. They should be educated on what the medications are that they are being given, as well as why it is being administered, dosage, route etc. For example, patients always want to know why they are getting Lovenox or Protonix when they have not taken it before. They should also be educated on diet choices, at the hospital that I work at, sometimes the patients will be placed on certain diets like nothing by mouth (NPO), American Diabetes Association (ADA), renal, heart healthy, low potassium etc., and they state that they do not have diet restrictions at home, so they have to be educated on why they were placed on the diet and they should consider this type of diet once discharged.
The nursing process is used in developing health education because the nurse must assess the patient. This assessment is not only a head to toe assessment, but the nurse must also determine the patients needs, readiness to learn and the patient's ability and desire to actively engage in their plan of care and meeting goals. Then the nurse makes their nursing diagnoses, for example is their non-compliance evident, immobility, learning deficit etc. The nurse then develops a plan of care and action that can be made with the patient and begins to implement the plan of care. The nurse and patient evaluate how well they are meeting their care goals and continue to develop a plan that changes to the patients needs and better assists with meeting goals. Throughout the whole process the nurse is educating the patient on what the problem is preventing the patient from getting better and then the nurse educates the patient on how they can work towards solving that problem.
A contemporary issue that a family may experience today is the issue of vaccination. There is a lot of information out there that is telling parents to not vaccinate their children. However, recently there was an issue with a measles outbreak in New York where I live, as well as some other states. The development of a child starts with physical development before getting to psychological development. Physical development involves growth in height and weight. During the early stages, the girls are averagely taller than boys. One of the challenges in physical development is obesity, a health problem that is caused by diet, social characteristics, and genetic make-up. The psychological aspect involves growth in education, which is enhanced for all learners through systems such as special education.
The special education units involve providing the learners with differentiated instructions to facilitate learning at various levels. The early development stages require the support of the parents, especially the protection that the father offers to the children. Similarly, the development of the children includes dieting and the challenge of obesity among children can be addressed by ensuring that children access healthy meals.

ADHD has been a long-standing disorder that has severely affected the performance of children educationally and socially, causing lots of concern and pain to parents and other stakeholders like doctors, psychologist, counselors and the society. With the rate of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Syndrome (ADHD) increasing by 24% since 2001(USA today, 2013), such a significant jump should raise much concern and interest. Increase in the diagnosis of the disorder has raised much awareness and effort to manage the disorder and give a clearer vision on planning has increased. ADHD has been under-diagnosed due to certain reasons that has made the assessment of its scope difficult (Hamed, Kauer,Stevens,Pradeep & Lyons, 2015). Moreover, because it is under-diagnosed, much wrong information pervades society and effective treatment remains a mirage. An increase in ADHD diagnoses is beneficial to children, parents, and the public in providing information about the disorder, statistics, and its challenges.
First, the provision of adequate information about the ADHD disorder will make effective and increased diagnosis possible. Parents and their children’s knowledge about the disorder (USA today, 2013) likely caused the rise in the diagnosis of the ADHD disorder. When parents have information about the prevalence, signs and symptoms of the disorder, it raises the need to go for a test and receive help if indeed the disorder is present in their wards. The DSM-5 criteria for ADHD helps significantly in the diagnosis of ADHD (CDC, 2015) and explains the various signs and symptoms to look out for in effectively diagnosing the disorder. Patterns of inattention and impulsive behaviors are signs that affects the Childs concentration in school and will affect the Childs grade (AAP, 2016). The Childs inability to focus on studies and to pay attention in class is a thing of much worry, as this will be a problem for the childs future since one third of these symptoms in children will persist into adulthood (Hamed, et al., 2015). The community do have a stake in this trend also as increase in information about the signs, symptoms and general information about ADHD will increase the diagnosis of the disorder. Introduction
In today's world, many people have an access to the media comprised of the Internet which includes social media platforms, the print media which is comprised of newspapers and magazines, and broadcast media which includes televisions and radios. The exposure to the aforementioned types of media has been associated with the increasing cases of eating disorders as reported by some researchers (Latzer, Spivak-Lavi, & Katz, 2015, p. 375). Studies have shown that children and young adolescents spent about 5 hours a day watching the television and about 7 hours using the various types of media combined (Morris & Katzman, 2003, p. 287). Effects of the media on eating disorders have been influenced by the decreasing weights of the beauty pageants, actresses, and models who many young people especially the young girls look up to in terms of setting standards of beauty (Spettigue &Henderson, 2004, p. 16). Generally, girls want to weigh less while on the contrary, boys want to get bigger and muscular which is influenced by their various role models who are displayed by the media (Morris & Katzman, 2003, p. 287). Magazines, advertisements, and television shows have contributed a lot to eating disorders in girls and women and researchers have found out that women's magazines have about 10 times more promotion of diet foods as compared to men's magazines (Spettigue & Henderson, 2004, p. 16). Despite the cases of eating disorders being associated with the young people, it does not mean that it is not present in older adults. In fact, people of all ages have been affected by the media which has led to this health condition. On the bright side, one can avoid being influenced by the media to embrace bad eating patterns by being keen with the content they choose to view and also relying on the advice of health care providers on the healthiest ways of living to mention but a few.
Causes of Eating Disorders
Mentioning that the media has contributed to eating disorders is not sufficient enough and therefore the topic needs to be tackled deeply. The children are the future of this great nation. As such, it is important that adequate attention and consideration is put into ensuring the future of the nation is secured. The growing incidences of child obesity should thus, be considered a threat to the future of the country. As a nurse, I feel that there is immediate need to address the matter of childhood obesity and nip it in the bud before it grows and becomes an even more troublesome issue. According to a report released by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently, approximately 13.7 million children aged between the ages of 2 and 19 suffered from obesity (CDC, 2018). These numbers are very alarming especially seeing that there is an anticipated increase. The purpose of this paper is to communicate the author’s desire to implement policies in schools that will help manage and eventually reduce the prevalence of obesity in the nation by proposing solutions to the problem.
The Problem of Obesity
The food an individual consumes plays an important role in shaping their health. As such, it is very worrying when children continue to feed on heavily processed foods that are not nutritionally beneficial to them. Child obesity, just like adult obesity, is caused by the consumption of high-calorie foods and beverages that are lacking essential nutrients. This, paired with living a sedentary lifestyle, increases the chances of becoming overweight and eventually, obese (Dawes, 2014).
Obese children have very many health risks including, high cholesterol as well as high blood pressure which makes them susceptible to developing heart conditions, breathing problems such as asthma, joint problems; they may also develop mental health conditions such as anxiety and depression. Childhood obesity also negatively impairs the child’s social development and ability to associate properly with their peers. This is due to the feelings of low self-esteem they may develop as a result of being jeered at by other children because of their weight. They become anxious about whether they will be socially accepted by their age mates and conclude that they will not be. As a result, they end up isolating themselves and if this is left unaddressed, they may become depressed (Halfon, Larson & Slasser, 2016). When this children grow up to become adults, they are at risk of even more health problems such as adult obesity which brings with it even more serious health conditions such as risk of developing Diabetes type 2, Heart disease as well as cancer. ADHD has been under-diagnosed due to certain reasons that has made the assessment of its scope difficult (Hamed, Kauer,Stevens,Pradeep & Lyons, 2015). Moreover, because it is under-diagnosed, much wrong information pervades society and effective treatment remains a mirage. An increase in ADHD diagnoses is beneficial to children, parents, and the public in providing information about the disorder, statistics, and its challenges.

When parents have information about the prevalence, signs and symptoms of the disorder, it raises the need to go for a test and receive help if indeed the disorder is present in their wards. The DSM-5 criteria for ADHD helps significantly in the diagnosis of ADHD (CDC, 2015) and explains the various signs and symptoms to look out for in effectively diagnosing the disorder. Patterns of inattention and impulsive behaviors are signs that affects the Childs concentration in school and will affect the Childs grade (AAP, 2016). The Childs inability to focus on studies and to pay attention in class is a thing of much worry, as this will be a problem for the childs future since one third of these symptoms in children will persist into adulthood (Hamed, et al., 2015). In today's world, many people have an access to the media comprised of the Internet which includes social media platforms, the print media which is comprised of newspapers and magazines, and broadcast media which includes televisions and radios. The exposure to the aforementioned types of media has been associated with the increasing cases of eating disorders as reported by some researchers (Latzer, Spivak-Lavi, & Katz, 2015, p. 375). Studies have shown that children and young adolescents spent about 5 hours a day watching the television and about 7 hours using the various types of media combined (Morris & Katzman, 2003, p. 287). Effects of the media on eating disorders have been influenced by the decreasing weights of the beauty pageants, actresses, and models who many young people especially the young girls look up to in terms of setting standards of beauty (Spettigue &Henderson, 2004, p. 16). Generally, girls want to weigh less while on the contrary, boys want to get bigger and muscular which is influenced by their various role models who are displayed by the media (Morris & Katzman, 2003, p. 287). Magazines, advertisements, and television shows have contributed a lot to eating disorders in girls and women and researchers have found out that women's magazines have about 10 times more promotion of diet foods as compared to men's magazines (Spettigue & Henderson, 2004, p. 16). harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied

The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
