Parkour is an art of movement that involves efficiently moving from point A to point B by overcoming obstacles. It was developed in France by David Belle, whose father taught him natural movement techniques. Practitioners of parkour, called traceurs, focus on overcoming obstacles in a safe and fluid manner through techniques like running, jumping, climbing, landing, vaulting and rolling. While not an extreme sport, parkour requires training to perform safely and benefits practitioners by building flexibility, creativity, and helping them overcome worries and failures in life. It has grown popular in many cities across Indonesia.
