A New Deal for Journalism - Summary
The Forum on Information and Democracy published 'A New Deal for Journalism' in June 2021. The report, for which I was Lead Rapporteur, calls for a sea change in how democratic societies approach the funding of public interest journalism.
We took and weighed evidence from a huge range of stakeholders around the world, in journalism, funding, investment, government, civil society, and academia. We had significant guidance and input from the Steering Committee led by Prof Rasmus Kleis Nielsen.
In its final version, the (80-page) report called on governments in particular to anchor and catalyse the journalism sector by, in particular, dedicating 0.1% of their GDP to supporting journalism domestically, and 1% of their ODA to journalism in recipient countries. Other recommendations included making journalism one of the causes eligible to receive funding through dormant assets funds, and pressuring IFIs like the World Bank and IMF to actively defend media freedom.

In its final version, the (80-page) report called on governments in particular to anchor and catalyse the journalism sector by, in particular, dedicating 0.1% of their GDP to supporting journalism domestically, and 1% of their ODA to journalism in recipient countries. Other recommendations included making journalism one of the causes eligible to receive funding through dormant assets funds, and pressuring IFIs like the World Bank and IMF to actively defend media freedom.

Mollifying poverty through microfinance indian perspective
1) Microfinance is seen as a tool to reduce poverty levels in India by providing credit to the poor and disadvantaged who lack access to formal financial services.
2) The government of India has implemented various microfinance schemes through organizations like NABARD and SIDBI to expand access to microcredit and support self-help groups and microfinance institutions.
3) These schemes arrange funding for MFIs/NGOs, provide training, and help build institutional capacity to identify viable projects and beneficiaries. Budgetary support and an oversight committee also help scale microfinance programs.

Antti Kivelä: Possibilities of ehealth - Sitra's view and ongoing projects
Sitra is a fund operating under the Finnish Parliament that promotes economic growth and international competitiveness. Sitra conducted a study showing people are satisfied with healthcare services and open to eHealth solutions. Sitra funds pilot projects for new eHealth services and invests in sustainable businesses. Example projects include healthy gaming, remote health monitoring, and a national health information exchange framework to connect services and create a "snowball effect" of richer data and better services.

El Puerto de Algeciras continúa un año más como el más eficiente del continente europeo y vuelve a situarse en el “top ten” mundial, según el informe The Container Port Performance Index 2023 (CPPI), elaborado por el Banco Mundial y la consultora S&P Global.
El informe CPPI utiliza dos enfoques metodológicos diferentes para calcular la clasificación del índice: uno administrativo o técnico y otro estadístico, basado en análisis factorial (FA). Según los autores, esta dualidad pretende asegurar una clasificación que refleje con precisión el rendimiento real del puerto, a la vez que sea estadísticamente sólida. En esta edición del informe CPPI 2023, se han empleado los mismos enfoques metodológicos y se ha aplicado un método de agregación de clasificaciones para combinar los resultados de ambos enfoques y obtener una clasificación agregada.
