PA2040 Public Wi-Fi
This document outlines plans for a smart city proof of concept project in Washington D.C. spanning several areas including Western and Eastern Pennsylvania Avenue, St. Elizabeths East, the Tech Corridor, and the Extended National Mall. The project will install smart lighting with sensors, outdoor WiFi access points, and monitoring nodes to create an Internet of Things network. This network will provide services like public WiFi, lighting management, location analytics, and environmental sensor data collection to improve the visitor experience and support public, educational, and government services across the pilot areas.
