Pierre Matte has over 30 years of experience in finance and administration roles for mining companies in West Africa. His most recent role from 2013-2014 was as General Manager for Roxgold Burkina Faso, where he helped the exploration company transition to production by obtaining permits, assisting with reports, and establishing local policies and procedures. Prior to that, from 2008-2012 he was General Manager for Avion Gold Mali's Tabakoto and Segala Gold Projects, restarting production ahead of schedule. From 2002-2008 he held various roles for Nevsun Resources' Tabakoto Mine in Mali, including General Manager during care and maintenance.

Tasked with putting in place all of the necessary structures in order to move the company from
an exploration company to a producing company.

The start up date of February 15, 2009 was reached.
The operation restarted with one open pit and evolved to 3 open pits and two operating
underground galleries with a third on its way. The project was also in the middle of a plant
expansion to double the production capacity.

Care and maintenance
 General Manager throughout the months when the Nevsun Resources project
was on care and maintenance. During this period only 2 other expats
remained to handle care & maintenance and ensure safe keeping of the
assets.
 Following the purchase by Avion Gold Corporation the initial duties were to
facilitate the arrival and establishment of the exploration crews that were
assigned the task of better understanding the geology of this project.
