This document lists various hardware used for multimedia and their functions. It includes scanners like flatbed, sheet-fed, barcode, and 3D scanners used for pictures. Other hardware listed are digital cameras, video cameras, microphones, keyboards, sound cards, and video capture cards used for audio and visual multimedia elements. Connectivity hardware like Firewire cables and USB cables are also included.
The document discusses the differences between forges and app stores, and issues around joining the two. Forges focus on code and developer tools, while app stores focus on the consumer experience. Legal issues can arise from incompatible licenses between FOSS projects and app store terms of service. Metadata standards are needed to integrate forge and app store data focused on different audiences. Publishing to multiple app stores requires dealing with signing, packaging and release synchronization across stores and forges. It is unclear whether the effort of app store integration is worthwhile for many open source projects.
This document discusses how organizations can leverage cloud technologies to speed up their development processes and reduce time to market. It focuses on using the cloud to build an OpenStack software factory, create an internal cloud service provider, make applications elastic for web and mobile, and store and process large amounts of data for analytics. The cloud provides infrastructure that can power big data and analytics solutions.
The document summarizes an event called the 2013 Open World Forum (OWF). The OWF is an annual conference that brings together decision-makers, developers, users, and communities from around the world to discuss open technology initiatives and shape the digital future. The 2013 event had over 2,500 registered participants from various roles including CEOs, CIOs, developers, and engineers. It featured keynote speeches, panels, demonstrations, and networking opportunities across many open source topics. Overall, the 2013 OWF was a successful event that engaged thousands of people both online and onsite at its venue in Paris.
1. The European Cloud Computing Strategy outlines three key actions: cutting through the jungle of standards, promoting safe and fair contract terms, and establishing a European Cloud Partnership for public sector leadership.
2. ETSI will coordinate stakeholders to identify necessary standards for security, interoperability, and more by 2013 and help develop certification schemes.
3. The European Cloud Partnership will bring together public authorities and industry to specify requirements and advance joint procurement of cloud services based on common needs.

EOLE / OWF 12 - License compatibility analysis and components based systems i...Paris Open Source Summit
The document discusses license compatibility analysis for component-based software systems developed in public research contexts. It presents a practical approach to analyzing license compatibility that involves: 1) Analyzing the software's architecture and detailed description to identify the scope of analysis. 2) Using tools to help identify licenses of components, while still requiring human review and discussion to qualify results. 3) Considering how a changing licensing-out strategy over the software's lifecycle can impact compatibility with existing third-party components. The approach aims to efficiently analyze large component-based systems with evolving licensing needs.

#OSSPARIS19 : The evolving (IoT) security landscape - Gianluca Varisco, ArduinoParis Open Source Summit
IoT is at the peak of the hype cycle - what they call the 'Peak of Inflated Expectations’. The complexity of the cybersecurity landscape is at an all-time high, with security researchers, vendors and even governments all trying to come to a consensus for making the cyber-world a safer place. In this world of lightning-fast development cycles, it may intuitively feel like security gets left behind. The battle over standards is always a struggle. The unresolved problem of software updates and short vendor support cycle combined with the lack of effort into security makes these devices an easy target. Companies not only need to update their technology stack for the evolving security landscape but also their mindset, processes and culture. This talk will shine a light on some of the challenges that today’s executives face in finding and fixing systemic problems in and outside of security through people, tools and understanding.

HCL Notes and Domino License Cost Reduction in the World of DLAUpanagenda
Webinar Recording: https://www.panagenda.com/webinars/hcl-notes-and-domino-license-cost-reduction-in-the-world-of-dlau/
The introduction of DLAU and the CCB & CCX licensing model caused quite a stir in the HCL community. As a Notes and Domino customer, you may have faced challenges with unexpected user counts and license costs. You probably have questions on how this new licensing approach works and how to benefit from it. Most importantly, you likely have budget constraints and want to save money where possible. Don’t worry, we can help with all of this!
We’ll show you how to fix common misconfigurations that cause higher-than-expected user counts, and how to identify accounts which you can deactivate to save money. There are also frequent patterns that can cause unnecessary cost, like using a person document instead of a mail-in for shared mailboxes. We’ll provide examples and solutions for those as well. And naturally we’ll explain the new licensing model.
Join HCL Ambassador Marc Thomas in this webinar with a special guest appearance from Franz Walder. It will give you the tools and know-how to stay on top of what is going on with Domino licensing. You will be able lower your cost through an optimized configuration and keep it low going forward.
These topics will be covered
- Reducing license cost by finding and fixing misconfigurations and superfluous accounts
- How do CCB and CCX licenses really work?
- Understanding the DLAU tool and how to best utilize it
- Tips for common problem areas, like team mailboxes, functional/test users, etc
- Practical examples and best practices to implement right away

Climate Impact of Software Testing at Nordic Testing DaysKari Kakkonen
My slides at Nordic Testing Days 6.6.2024
Climate impact / sustainability of software testing discussed on the talk. ICT and testing must carry their part of global responsibility to help with the climat warming. We can minimize the carbon footprint but we can also have a carbon handprint, a positive impact on the climate. Quality characteristics can be added with sustainability, and then measured continuously. Test environments can be used less, and in smaller scale and on demand. Test techniques can be used in optimizing or minimizing number of tests. Test automation can be used to speed up testing.

Observability Concepts EVERY Developer Should Know -- DeveloperWeek Europe.pdfPaige Cruz
Monitoring and observability aren’t traditionally found in software curriculums and many of us cobble this knowledge together from whatever vendor or ecosystem we were first introduced to and whatever is a part of your current company’s observability stack.
While the dev and ops silo continues to crumble….many organizations still relegate monitoring & observability as the purview of ops, infra and SRE teams. This is a mistake - achieving a highly observable system requires collaboration up and down the stack.
I, a former op, would like to extend an invitation to all application developers to join the observability party will share these foundational concepts to build on:
