Over the past 3 years we have seen the price for university rising forcing students to
choose not to go because they can’t afford it, leading to the missing out on the education
which they may want to get the job which they have worked towards.
In 2012 the decision was made to increase tuition fees to 9.000 for all courses leading to a
drop in students attending university by almost 50% since the fees went up from 6.000.
I spoke to various students from Eccles sixth form centre asking them weather the change
in price has affected their plans to go to university.
Over all the cost of going to uni has reduced the amount of people who are going because
the majority are unable to afford it.
