This study conducts an empirical study on Japanese service companies in China to understand the scale, attributes, and features of the Japanese service industries in the Chinese market. A questionnaire have been done among all of the Japanese service companies in China. Based on the data collected, studies on competitiveness are used as a theoretical basis, and statistical analysis is applied to conduct factor analysis for the empirical data, in order to grasp the main elements in competitiveness for the Japanese service industry in China. Finally, Pearson analysis is used to clarify the correlations among elements in competitiveness, in turn deducing the hierarchy among elements. Results show, among the competitiveness elements of the Japanese service industry in China, capability of operational strategies within the corporation is a core factor in promoting industrial competitiveness.

Output indices shoot down in emerging economies: HSBC Mumbai: Owing to the drop in the manufacturing segment, business activities across the emerging nations witnessed a downfall for the first time since four years. As per the July business index, outlining the contraction in the manufacturing index, a consideration divergence was also highlighted in the developed and emerging economies. Additionally, the composite HSBC Emerging Markets index for services and manufacturing dropped to 49.4 in July from the June index which stood at 50.6. Commenting on the performance index, Frederic Neumann, HSBC’s Co-Head, Asian Economic Research, “Emerging markets are not yet witnessing a lift from stabilizing demand in the United States, Europe and Japan.” He further highlighted the cyclical downfall in manufacturing and softer service sectors as main risks hindering the growth pace of emerging economies. A considerable fall was also outlined in the new business activities since the four years, wherein China, India and Brazil received less new work in July. Russia on the other hand registered its slowest ever growth in nearly three years.
