This document defines and describes different types of otaku in Japanese culture. It begins by explaining that otaku refers to people who are obsessively devoted to a particular hobby or interest to the point that it becomes a core part of their identity. It then lists and briefly describes 12 common types of otaku: 1) Anime/Manga Otaku, 2) Cosplay Otaku, 3) Game Otaku, 4) Idol & JPop Otaku, 5) Figure Otaku, 6) Train Otaku, 7) Robot Otaku, 8) Pasocon Otaku, 9) Wapanese, 10) Female History Otaku, 11) Voice Actress Otaku, and 12) Military Otaku
