Killer whales communicate with clicks and sleep differently depending on if they are alone or in a pod. They eat a variety of animals like seals, fish, sharks, and birds. Sharks have a strong sense of smell and hear low pitches, while seeing well in low light waters. They eat meat like crabs and fish.
Snakes are carnivorous reptiles that hunt for prey using their tongues to smell scents. They can eat animals as large as crocodiles whole. Snakes find shelter in places like water, grasslands, trees, and cacti. While found on every continent except Antarctica, there are around 3,000 different snake species that live in a variety of habitats worldwide.
The document provides an overview of business plans and strategic planning. It explains that a business plan guides strategic direction, is needed for lenders and investors, and helps establish goals, market opportunities, costs, and profitability. A strategic plan communicates organizational direction to stakeholders. Key parts of a business plan include an executive summary, company and product descriptions, market analysis, competitors, marketing/sales plans, management, and financial projections. The document also compares business plans and strategic plans.

This power point presentation covers important themes in teaching college reading and writing. It discusses four main topics: 1) the purpose of schooling in terms of economic motivation, intellectual growth, social responsibility, and ethics; 2) the role of standards in education and how standardized testing has influenced curriculum; 3) the history and original purpose of basic writing courses to help students who were not traditionally ready for college; 4) common attitudes about basic writers seeing their deficiencies as problems to be fixed rather than recognizing their capabilities.
This document outlines academic and career goals, including becoming a professor of rhetoric and composition or pursuing administration. It examines the requirements for an assistant professor position, such as a PhD in composition, evidence of teaching experience, research and publishing potential, and service. The document proposes a plan to better prepare, including completing a degree, gaining more teaching experience, attending and presenting at conferences, publishing work, participating in department activities, and joining a hiring committee.

Pandas find food by living in bamboo forests and trees, where their diet consists entirely of bamboo. Female pandas give birth alone without help from males, who can weigh up to 150kg. Pandas protect themselves using physical strength, jaws, arms, and feet to attack predators if needed.
Shetland Sheepdogs, also known as Shelties, are a breed of herding dog that have been around since 1915. While their eyesight is not as good as humans, Shetland Sheepdogs rely on their strong sense of smell and hearing to herd sheep. On average, Shelties live 10 years, though larger dog breeds tend to live longer.

Horses have hooves to keep their feet clean and protect them from injury. Their hooves get tougher as they grow older. Horses also have manes that act as armor when stallions fight and help shake off flies, and provide riders with something to hold onto. Additional facts about horses include that they can sleep standing up or lying down, run shortly after birth, have 205 bones, and have larger eyes than any other land mammal.
Horses communicate through sounds like nickering and use their manes to keep their necks warm and dry. A horse's first reaction to a threat is to flee but they may stand their ground and defend themselves. The key physical difference between male and female horses is that mares have an udder between their hind legs while stallions do not. Horses were first domesticated 4,000-5,000 years ago and live in herds, satisfying in open grasslands where they forage for food like grass and plants.
Donkeys are herbivores that mainly eat grass and plants like hay, as well as fruits and vegetables such as carrots and apples. They can live 30-50 years in prosperous countries but only 12-15 years in poor countries. Donkeys are useful as beasts of burden for transportation between villages and cities, working as hard as horses to carry people's luggage. Additional facts are that African wild asses are endangered, donkeys are the smallest member of the horse family, and have larger ears than horses.
The document discusses several methods of communication used by indigenous peoples long ago, including drawings on cave walls, smoke signals, mirrors, fire signals, blanket signals, and sign language. Drawings told stories of daily life and battles. Smoke signals used different puff lengths to send messages over long distances. Mirrors signaled rescuers. Fire signals conveyed warnings or messages at night through movement. Blankets waved signals of danger. Sign language developed as tribes spoke different languages, using standardized hand gestures understood across tribes.

Cave drawings told stories of daily life, battles, and heroes. Smoke signals used different puffs of smoke to send messages over long distances. Mirrors and fire signals were used to signal locations, and blankets were waved to warn of danger. Since tribes spoke different languages, they developed a common sign language using hand movements to communicate across groups.
People used various methods to send messages before modern technology:
1) Pigeons were trained by the military to carry written messages attached to their legs between bases and the front lines. One pigeon was even awarded a medal for bravery after saving 194 soldiers.
2) Early humans sent messages in bottles by writing notes and releasing them into bodies of water with the hope they would be found. This method was later used by navies.
3) Semaphore flags used positions of flags or rods to visually signal letters and numbers according to a code like Morse code. Signal corpsmen would stand on platforms to communicate across long distances during wars.

2. What are Ostriches & what do
they look like?
ostriches are the largest birds alive. they
weigh about 220 to 350 pounds. they have
wings but sadly they cannot fly because of
their enormous bodies, but they have
powerful strong legs that could potentially kill
its predator or even us human beings. they
are the only birds that have 2 toes on each
3. Where do Ostriches live & and what do
they eat?
Ostriches mainly live on grasslands in east africa, south
africa and in the sahara. In the world’s hottest dessert
and the third largest desert after antarctica and the
arctic. Ostriches are Omnivores so they eat plants,
seeds , and large insects like locusts. Ostriches also eat
small stones and pebbles to help crush up the food and
aid in the digestion process.
4. Extras
* Ostriches stick their heads in the sand, because of their
predators they stand very still until they’re gone. They do
this because their skin can camouflage it’s shade as the
sand
* Ostrich eggs are 3.3 pounds they are like 24
chicken eggs.
