1) OSM Indonesia conducted university roadshows from 2011-now to promote OpenStreetMap and build mapping skills. They held over 100 trainings with nearly 3,000 participants who mapped over 4 million buildings. 2) The roadshows faced challenges of sustainable skills growth and changing resistant attitudes. OSM's solution was to focus on interests and future integration potential through lectures, workshops with disaster agencies, and GIS course partnerships. 3) Beyond roadshows, OSM established OSM Hubs for coordination, research, training, outreach and partnerships to continue skills development and mainstream OpenStreetMap.
