You don’t want to do backups, you want to do a successful restore! And to get these possibility as fast as you can you have to automate, standardise your installation and configuration of Bareos. A lesser side effect, all your work is self documented you have a history and it is rollbackable. To get all these together we use git, salt and Bareos. This live demonstration will – give you a short introduction to salt and its requirements – tell you how to get and manage the Bareos Salt-State of and with git – show a way managing customers Bareos configuration with git for Salt – introduce what is a Salt Pillar and why there are the core information’s – end up in an automated installation of Bareos DIR, SD and FD including a few jobs.
