Mrs. Flores' class requires students to bring supplies including pens, pencils, notebooks, and folders. Students must read outside of class for 100 minutes per week and complete reading logs that are signed by parents. The tardy policy issues verbal warnings for the first two tardies and an office referral on the third. Grades are based 50% on formative and 50% on summative assessments, and students have two days per absence to make up work for up to 75% credit on formatives and full credit on summatives.

Students will be responsible for choosing their reading materials and dividing their reading time according to their individual schedules. Reading logs will be turned in weekly to track student progress and to provide opportunities for students to reflect on what they have read. Parent/Guardian signatures are encouraged

Grading Policy The NISD Reading Department grading policy is as follows: 50% Formative Assessments (7 th Grade 40%) Benchmarks Homework Assignments that assess progress 50% Summative Assessments (7 th Grade 60%) Tests Major papers or projects Assignments that assess mastery District Benchmark Assessments are given twice during the school year

6. Make-Up Work Students will be given a minimum of 2 days for every day absent to complete make-up assignments. This holds true for both excused and unexcused absences.

7. Formative assessments can be turned in/corrected within a reasonable time frame for a maximum grade of 75% Summative assessments can be turned in/corrected for full credit
