I previously posted information about compatibility issues between Hyperion and older versions of Internet Explorer. This was then followed by information about the status of different versions of Hyperion. This should help you to tell if you should be thinking about an upgrade sooner or later. This next slide share is about two different approaches that can be used to upgrade your environments taking some pros and cons into consideration. You may find this useful when considering any future plans or desire to upgrade.

INPLACE UPGRADE
• This is the quickest easiest method to upgrade to
the newest version
• Minimal new hardware is required
• The applications and data do not need to be
migrated
• More advisable for smaller upgrade leaps e.g.
11.1.2.2 to 11.1.2.3
• This is the highest risk option available due

live contingency
• More time and effort is required to design and
build a new system in parallel
• More hardware will be required to host the new
servers
• The data and applications in the old system will
need to be migrated and upgraded to the new
version
