OphthalNet is a single software that can access all images, videos, numeric data, and raw data from all devices and brands, providing a comprehensive solution. In contrast, a PACS system only supports JPEG images in DICOM format from imaging devices. OphthalNet also has interfaces tailored for ophthalmology and allows querying of data for research. It can import legacy data and support more types of ophthalmic devices compared to a generic PACS system.
