The document describes the Open Media Unit, which transforms static ads into intelligent content channels. It delivers contextual content dynamically to users across devices without disruption. It has proven engagement and interaction rates far above industry benchmarks. The Open Media Unit uses an asset management platform to deliver customized, multi-format content experiences from a single ad unit.
Information architecture and content strategy are the foundation of any website but, when it comes to mobile, they can literally mean the life or death of a product. The truth is that even the best-designed and well-engineered mobile products can still fail if their IA is not sound, and that’s because mobile information architecture doesn’t only define the structure of content, but also determines how users will interact with it. And speaking of content, do you know what content should go on your mobile sites and apps? Are your users finding what they came for?In this talk we will take a look at the thought process that drives mobile content strategy, the specific challenges and opportunities of the mobile space and how information architecture and content strategy contribute to the creation of outstanding cross-channel experiences.

Assessing Feedback for Indirect Shared InteractionJorge Cardoso
Just skyped this presentation to OTM-MONET in Greece, about the paper:

The Open IMU™ (Intelligent Media Unit™) is a proprietary display media format invented and developed by This Is Open Limited.
Proven to be at least 300% more interactive and 600% more engaging than existing display media formats.
It transforms static display media into dynamic content channels, delivering straight to the user (in situ) a complete content experience – across display media, social media and mobile – dramatically increasing consideration, engagement and participation.
Neil Morris, MD Grand Visual, was one of the speakers at the DOOH workshop on July 4, 2012. In his presentation you’ll find a unique perspective on the state of creativity and production in digital out-of-home (DOOH). Check the various campaigns from the last 12 months in the UK and USA and the techniques that will see the light of day in the year ahead.

The benefits of using open source software are well known, well documented and well leveraged by organisations all over the world. The risks of using open source software are not always as well understood. The risks are real and there’s always more which can be done to manage risk but at what cost?
Attend this keynote for a discussion on the results of a four-year, industry-wide study on application security practices, policies, and trends related to open source development. To date, over 11,000 professionals have participated in the study.
Among the surprising survey results that will be discussed:
1-in-3 organizations had or suspected an open source breach in the past 12 months
Only 16% of participants must prove they are not using components with known vulnerabilities
64% don't track changes in open source vulnerability data
Flash is everywhere now. On the desktop, in pockets, and even on TVs. The key to making your application uniquely valuable is to provide a consistent user experience by focusing on context. While we have the tools to create/author 80% of the code and interface, we must capitalize on the uniqueness of each device and platform to deliver an optimal experience that is mobilized, not minimized. Discover how screen resolution, portability, native interface controls, and use-case - the context of your app - dictate how the last 20% of the experience needs to be tailored. In this session, we'll explore the new range of capabilities you should consider when planning to deploy applications across a variety of contexts including web (Flash Player 10.1), mobile (Android phone) and the litl OS.

Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software FuzzingAftab Hussain
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.

Climate Impact of Software Testing at Nordic Testing DaysKari Kakkonen
My slides at Nordic Testing Days 6.6.2024
Climate impact / sustainability of software testing discussed on the talk. ICT and testing must carry their part of global responsibility to help with the climat warming. We can minimize the carbon footprint but we can also have a carbon handprint, a positive impact on the climate. Quality characteristics can be added with sustainability, and then measured continuously. Test environments can be used less, and in smaller scale and on demand. Test techniques can be used in optimizing or minimizing number of tests. Test automation can be used to speed up testing.
Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.
