The Open Exeter project was funded by Jisc to create an online institutional archive for research data stored at Exeter University. The archive, located at eda.exeter.ac.uk, allows researchers to securely store and access research data from anywhere over the internet through a unique identifier, without needing to go through the university's system. The archive is aiming to improve the submission process by early 2013 by pre-populating submission fields, remembering previous submissions, and allowing larger files and multiple file uploads. Feedback is requested on how the university's three repositories for research data and metadata could work together.

The website provides free storage that is backed up daily, accessible by others via search engines, and can handle very large files. A demonstration of the submission process is available now, with the full public release planned for early 2013. 2) EOSC aims to create a federated environment for open sharing and analysis of research data across borders and disciplines.
3) Sharing sensitive data on EOSC requires properly documenting, licensing, identifying, and anonymizing data while making it findable and accessible on repositories or secure services.

Discovery Search WorldCat Local allows users to search multiple library resources including books, journals, articles, and more in a single search. LibGuides provide subject specific research guides that introduce relevant databases and indexes. The repository will use standard technologies like Fedora Commons and enable self-deposit of data and metadata. It seeks to address the increasing need to make research data available to support publications, as required by funders like the US NSF. When complete, it will help researchers securely deposit existing and new data to ensure preservation and reuse.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in Education
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
