5. ClassPath
• Default path for classes and packages is current directory. Bin directory contains compiler and launcher.
• Classpath is a parameter in the Java Virtual Machine or the Java compiler that specifies the location of user-
defined classes and packages. The parameter may set either on the command-line, or through an environment
variable.
Update the PATH Environment Variable
• Set the PATH environment variable if you want to be able to conveniently run the executables (javac.exe,
java.exe, javadoc.exe, and so on) from any directory without having to type the full path of the command. If you
do not set the PATH variable, you need to specify the full path to the executable every time you run it.
• You should have only one bin directory for the JDK in the path at a time.
• Right-click on Computer, go to Properties. Click Advanced System Settings. Click Environment Variables button.
Edit System variable named Path. Paste the path of bin folder.
