MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT
1. The grants are from the gas tax and build Canada fund
2. Many municipalities are struggling with a broken arbitration system -

force-cities-to-keep-spending-more-on-unionized-workers
3. Towns that switch to OPP see costs go up -

controlled by the
municipal government
• OPP costs are controlled

BLOG – HYDRO Here is what I told a liberal supporter:
Liberal supporter,
So, Fraser Institute is wrong, right? So, is the AG report wrong as well?
http://www.auditor.on.ca/en/content/news/11_newsreleases/2011news_3.03.pdf
Ontario AG
http://www.auditor.on.ca/en/content/specialreports/specialreports/FairHydroPlan_en.pdf or
http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/ontario-hydro-auditor-general-report-fair-hydro-
plan-wynne-1.4358168
I have done my own work through reviewing different information and high hydro rates have
driven out business - https://www.slideshare.net/paulyoungcga/failed-clean-energy-policies-
ontario-wynne-and-mcguinty
Ontario businesses are at the breaking point with the Liberals as they have seen carbon
taxation, elimination of EHT threshold, high hydro rates, planned hikes to minimum wage,
etc. Business can adjust to government policies, but not when they continue to be slammed
by Wynne with bad after bad policy!
Jobs replaced by manufacturing have been lower in pay, like retail/transportation/etc.

income/article36242392/?ref=http://www.theglobeandmail.com&
TOP 1% - TAXING
Canada has series of programs that moved income from the federal government which are called the federal
transfers - https://www.fin.gc.ca/access/fedprov-eng.asp. The new transfer agreement ties federal transfers to GDP -
http://evidencenetwork.ca/archives/26746
The new Premier John Horgan who does not support Kinder Morgan is asking the federal government more CST
money for daycare - https://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/british-columbia/bc-ndp-looks-to-federal-
government-to-help-fund-childcare-plan/article37012357/. Kinder Morgan delays are costing $73B of new exports of
oil over the next 20 years or about 3.6B/annual in export revenue for oil companies.
I am all for a good debate on changing transfer policies, but not when it is strictly about give me more money. The
debate should be about how do we grow the economy. It is not by dropping carbon completely out of the economy.

Top 1% pay over 20% of the federal income tax.

You never discuss jobs by sector, why? Could
it be that goods producing jobs in natural
resources, mfg, etc are not growing the
same rate as construction and service
sector?
1. Employment made be low, but the jobs created are not goods
producing areas like natural resources and manufacturing
2. Exports are flat with USA and yet USA economy is growing at 2.5%
range
3. NAFTA has not been settled
4. Canada lacks the export capacity.
5. Smoke and mirrors on Kinder Morgan as there court cases
6. USA manufacturing is growing both employment and investment as
compare to Canada Manufacturing which is struggling to create jobs
and get investment
7. Liberals campaign was to get goods to market. So, what major new
investment and trade deal did they sign?
8. Hydro Rates are a big issue
9. carbon taxation and its role in terms of costs
10. CPP hikes are set to kick in 2019 which he also never mentioned.
11. Business invest where they can get the ROI. The fact is FDI is going
elsewhere, especially goods producing sector. All Morneau said FDI is
up. FDI maybe up in areas like commercial, but not industrial.
