Definition of Terms.
Engineering is defined according to Britannica to be the application of since to the optimum
conversion of the resources of nature to the use of humankind .
It also could be said to be the creative application of scientific principles to design or develop
structures, machines, or manufacturing processes or works utilizing them singly or its
combination.
The words engine and ingenious are derived from the same Latin root, ingenerate, which
“means to create”
An Engineer is someone whose main duties includes the development of new products for
companies or individuals to use, providing maintenance to the current products .
A company/firm is a legal entity formed by a group of individuals (commercial or industrial).
Hence an Engineering firm can be defined to be an independent firm of professional
engineers in the design the ,construction ,maintenance and repair of machines, manufacturing
processes.

A nation’s technological growth and economical development is often predicated on her level
of industrial practice and manufacturing.
 Research and studies has revealed that manufacturing alone produces china about $2.01
trillion in output and generates about $1.86 trillion annually.
Nigeria has been blessed with relevant natural resources such as Kaolin, Bismuth,
Cassaterite, lead and zinc etc in abundance.
Our problem is not on the policies and attitude of the leaders but the unwillingness of
individuals to contribute their little quota per time.
The status quo of the majority is one of the major point for our present location as a nation.

products, bearings, gaskets, tools etc. They also carry out maintenance (predictive and
preventive).
Strategies:
 Manufacturing of machine parts and components (both the traditional method and
CAD/CAM) of high quality and meeting international standard for sale and for use during
repairs and maintenance.
