When questioned, Stephen delivered a speech recounting Israel's history and accusing the council members of rejecting God and killing the prophets, including Jesus. Enraged by Stephen's testimony, the council had him stoned to death outside the city. As he was dying, Stephen prayed for forgiveness for his murderers. Saul, later known as the Apostle Paul, approved of and participated in Stephen's execution, which sparked widespread persecution that led to the dispersion of believers and spread of the Christian faith.

The document aims to spur discussion on living a cross-centered life as a disciple of Christ.

2. When Jesus asks his disciples who they believe him to be, Peter declares that Jesus is the Messiah and Son of God. Jesus tells Peter that this revelation was from God and that he will build his church upon Peter as the rock of revelation.
3. Jesus gives Peter and the disciples the keys to the kingdom, representing their authority to teach the gospel and open the doors of the kingdom to believers, binding what is forbidden and loosening what is allowed based on Christ's teachings.
This document provides a summary of Matthew 16:5-12 and discusses the key ideas around viral influences. It notes that both evil and God's power can spread virally. Jesus warns His disciples about the negative influence of some religious leaders, likening it to yeast. The disciples were initially ineffective "vaccines" against this, thinking carnally rather than spiritually. However, as they grew under Christ's guidance, they transformed into powerful "vaccines", spreading the gospel widely. The parallel is drawn to the current pandemic and need for effective vaccines to overcome deadly viruses, just as the kingdom of God will overcome evil influences.
This document provides an overview and analysis of Matthew 15:29-39, which describes Jesus feeding 4000 people with seven loaves of bread and a few small fish. It discusses the location in the Decapolis region, a primarily Gentile area, and compares it to the earlier feeding of 5000 in a Jewish area. It examines Jesus' focus on both Jews and Gentiles during this period and encourages readers to follow His example of being compelled by compassion to teach, heal, and provide for others spiritually and physically.
This document provides an analysis of the biblical passage where Jesus heals the daughter of a Canaanite woman who shows persistent faith. It examines Jesus' long journey to Tyre and Sidon, his long-term perspective to minister first to Jews, how he lingered before responding but instantly healed the daughter, and the long-term impact he had in that region. It also analyzes the woman's persistence in prayer, her positive attitude, and how she was perceptive in recognizing Jesus as the Son of David. The document encourages developing faith that scales up in the 21st century through having greater perception, pursuing things of true value persistently, and maintaining a positive outlook.
This document summarizes Matthew 15:1-20 and the background on Jewish traditions of handwashing. It discusses how the Pharisees accused Jesus' disciples of not following the tradition of handwashing. Jesus responds that the Pharisees invalidate God's commands with their own traditions. He says their worship is in vain as their hearts are far from God. The document provides historical context on handwashing in Jewish law and examines Christ's perspective on empty traditions versus true worship from the heart.
This document provides an overview and discussion of Bible passages from Matthew, Mark, and John describing Jesus feeding thousands and the crowds subsequently seeking him out. It discusses how the crowds were primarily interested in physical rather than spiritual benefits from Jesus, trying to shape him into an earthly king rather than accepting his role. Jesus offers himself as the bread of life and spiritual healing and freedom over physical needs. The document examines balancing work in this world with labor for eternal rewards and faith's response to Jesus.
This document provides a chapter-by-chapter summary of the Gospel of Matthew. It focuses on chapter 14, which describes Jesus walking on water and calling Peter to do the same. When Peter takes his eyes off Jesus and sees the wind and waves, he begins to sink. Jesus rescues him and says his faith is small. They get in the boat together and the wind stops. The disciples are still amazed by Jesus' power over nature.
This document provides an overview and analysis of the biblical story from Matthew 14:13-21 where Jesus feeds over 5,000 people with just five loaves of bread and two fish. It examines the perspectives of Philip, Andrew, and the boy who shared his food. Philip focused on the limited resources and doubted they could feed everyone, while the boy offered his food to Jesus in childlike faith. Jesus then miraculously multiplied the food to feed everyone, demonstrating His unlimited provision and role as the bread of life. The document encourages readers to offer what little they have to Jesus in faith like the boy, trusting in His ability to do great things.
This document provides an overview and analysis of Matthew 13:53-58 and parallel passages about Jesus returning to his hometown of Nazareth and facing rejection from the people there. It notes how Jesus grew up among the people of Nazareth but they did not recognize or accept him as the Messiah. Jesus confronted them with the truth, but they were unwilling to face him due to disbelief and denial. The document encourages readers to make sure they are truly facing Jesus themselves and ready to follow him fully, rather than risk missing out or rejecting him as the people of Nazareth did.
The document discusses Jesus teaching his disciples about being teachers of the word. It says teachers must first become disciples of the kingdom by understanding the word. They are then like owners of a treasure house, bringing out both old treasures from the Old Testament as well as new treasures from the New Testament. The document provides examples of old treasures like principles and guidelines and new treasures like teachings about living by the Spirit rather than works. It encourages readers to evaluate how much of the treasures they have utilized themselves and shared with others.
This document outlines chapters from the Gospel of Matthew that describe Jesus teaching about the kingdom of heaven. It focuses on passages about separating good fish from bad, the sheep and the goats, and the king's expectation that believers will win others to faith and serve others. It argues that to be righteous, one must believe in Jesus, be born again, and bear the fruit of the spirit. Only those who have genuinely believed in Christ as the savior have entered God's kingdom. All others who lack faith will be thrown into the blazing furnace.
This document outlines the key chapters in the book of Matthew and then focuses on Matthew 13:44-14:36. It discusses three parables from this section - the parable of the hidden treasure, the parable of the pearl, and an event where Jesus walks on water. It argues that finding the kingdom of God is like finding a single, invaluable treasure that makes all other possessions worthless. Finding the kingdom separates out what is truly valuable and brings out the extraordinary within the ordinary. It encourages letting oneself be led by the Spirit to find the invaluable treasures available in life and in knowing Christ.
This document outlines Matthew 13:24-30, 36-43 which discusses Jesus' parable of the wheat and the weeds. The summary is:
1. Jesus tells a parable about a farmer who sows good seed but an enemy sows weeds among the wheat. Both are allowed to grow together until harvest.
2. Jesus explains that the good seed represents people of the kingdom of heaven, while the weeds represent people of the evil one.
3. At the end, the weeds will be gathered and burned while the wheat is brought safely into the barn, representing the final separation of good and evil at the end times.

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375

5. Beautiful in God’s sight
Acts 7:20 At that time
Moses was born, and
he was beautiful in the
sight of God.
Exodus 2:2
The woman conceived
and bore a son; and
when she saw that he
was beautiful, she hid
him for three months.
6. Palacial Training
Heb 11:23 By faith Moses,
when he was born, was hid
for three months by his
parents, because they saw
that the child was beautiful;
and they were not
afraid of the king’s edict.
Acts 7:22 And Moses was
instructed in all the wisdom
of the Egyptians, and he
was mighty in his
words and deeds.
7. Point to Ponder
Why does Moses tell God he cannot speak when Acts 7
records that he is “mighty in words and deeds”?
8. Palacial Training
Acts 7:27 But the man
who was wronging his
neighbor thrust him aside,
saying, ‘Who made you
a ruler and a judge
over us? 28 Do you want
to kill me as you killed the
Egyptian yesterday?’ 29
At this retort Moses
fled, and became an
exile in the land of
Midian..
9. Palacial Training – The Choice
Hebrews 11:24 By faith
Moses, when he was
grown up, refused to be
called the son of
Pharaoh’s
daughter, 25 choosing
rather to share ill-
treatment with the
people of God than to enjoy
the fleeting pleasures of
sin.
10. Palacial Training – The Choice
Hebrews 11:26 He
considered abuse
suffered for the
Christ greater
wealth than the
treasures of Egypt, for he
looked to the
reward.27 By faith he
left Egypt, not being
afraid of the anger
of the king; for he
endured as seeing him
who is invisible.
11. Palacial Training
Moses was chosen to
be trained in the cradle
of the most powerful
nation – as prince. He
was:
• Chosen by God
• Chosen by the King’s
daughter
Yet he:
• Chose God over the
King
12. Providential Training
Acts 7:35 “This Moses
whom they refused,
saying, ‘Who made
you a ruler and a
judge?’ God sent as
both ruler and deliverer
by the hand of the angel
that appeared to him in
the bush
13. Providential Training – A Shepherd’s heart
Interestingly similar to David
Ps 78:70-73 “He chose David,
his servant
Handpicked him from his work
in the sheep pens
One day he was caring for
the ewes and their lambs,
The next day God had him
shepherding Jacob
His people Israel his prize
possession
His good heart made him a
good shepherd
He guided the people wisely
and well”
14. Providential Training
At the end of God’s
training Moses learnt:
• How to care like a
shepherd
• Humility – became “the
most humble person on
earth” (Num 12:3)
• Unconditional
Obedience
• Unconditional Faith
“With great power comes
great responsibility”
15. Providential Training
Moses was ready to:
• Successfully deliver a
nation in the most
dramatic Exodus the
world has ever known
through circumstances
the world has never
seen.
• Be the voice of God to
a rebellious nation.
16. Purposeful Living
Acts 7:36 He led them
out, having performed
wonders and signs in
Egypt and at the Red
Sea…39 Our fathers
refused to obey him,
but thrust him aside,
and in their hearts
they turned to Egypt,
40 saying to Aaron, ‘Make
for us gods to go before
us….
17. Purposeful Living
• Held the miracle rod
He wielded the greatest power and yet he
remained….
• Most humble before God
• Inspite of greatest wealth of the world
• Inspite of greatest power of God
Numbers 12:3 Now Moses was a very humble
man, more humble than anyone else on
the face of the earth.
18.
19. Purposeful Living
• Till the end, he had
all faculties intact.
• God himself buried
him..
• He appeared with
Elijah at the
transfiguration on the
promised land.

22. Discussion
1. What is true humility? Define it in your own words.
2. Humility is tied to your identity. Discuss/ Enact scenario/s
of how even when humiliated you can react in confident
manner, and maintain humility. You may contrast it with
pride.
3. Did Moses’s punishment of not being able to enter the
promised land strengthen his humility? Discuss.

27. Israel – The Chosen Nation
Generations after Abraham when the population had
multiplied into lakhs, rebellion set in:
Barring Moses, the next level leadership was tainted
(Aaron and Miriam)
The third level leadership corrupt
The conflict between God and His nation, reflects the
conflict between God and His church today.
28. Psalm 78 – Asaph’s Reflections on Israel
(The message Translation)God Israel
He set his word firmly in Israel,
commanded parents to teach to children
Ephraimites were cowards to God’s covenant, refused
to walk by his Word. Forgot what he’d done right
before their eyes
He performed miracles, led them out All they did was sin even more, rebel against the High
God, clamored for favours, for special attention,
whined like spoiled children
God was furious, his anger flared, he lost
his temper
It was clear they did not believe God, had no intention
of trusting in his help
God helped them, opened the gates of
heaven, handed everything they craved
on a platter
Greed knew no bounds
God was fed up, cut down their brightest
and best
Kept on sinning, still wouldn’t believe, lives dribbled off
to nothing
Cut them down Came running for help, turned and pled for mercy,
witnessed that God was their rock, lied through their
teeth, could not have cared less about him
Compassionate, forgave their sin, didn’t
destroy, over and over restrained his
wrath
Time and again pushed him to the limit, provoked
Israel’s Holy God. Quickly forgot
29. God Israel
Scattered everyone who got in his way,
staked out an inheritance for them
Kept on giving him a hard time, rebelled, worse then
their parents, crooked as a corkscrew..pagan orgies
provoked God’s anger, idolatories broke his heart
Furious, walked off, abandoned the
shrine where he had met them, turned
his back on the pride of his life, turned
them loose on the battlefields, let them
fend for themselves
Young men went to war and never came back, young
women waited in vain, priests were massacred,
widows never shed a tear.
The Lord was up on his feet. Hit his
enemies and sent them running.
Disqualified Joseph and chose Judah.
Built his sanctuary, chose David
“And you continue, so bullheaded! Calluses on your
hearts, flaps on your ears! Deliberately ignoring the
Holy Spirit, you’re just like your ancestors. Was there
ever a prophet who didn’t get the same treatment?
Your ancestors killed anyone who dared talk about the
coming of the Just One. And you’ve kept up the family
tradition—traitors and murderers, all of you. You had
God’s Law handed to you by angels—gift-wrapped!—
and you squandered it!” Acts 7:51-53
Psalm 78 – Asaph’s reflections on Israel
Cont’d…(The Message Translation)
30. ..In their hearts they turned to Egypt
Acts 7:39 Our fathers refused to obey him, but thrust him
aside, and in their hearts they turned to Egypt,
31. In their hearts they turned to Egypt..
Matthew 15:8 "These people honor me with their lips, but
their hearts are far from me.”
32. “In their hearts they turned to Egypt”
“A whole new generation of Christians has come up
believing that it is possible to accept Christ without
forsaking the world.” AW Tozer
“Our standard of living has gone up, but are we really better
off? 40 years of consumerism and media influence has
created a basic shift in values. Overall we live in a culture
dominated by the secular life view.” Pat Morley – Man in
the mirror
33. Dangers Today - Deeds without Love
Ron Jensen travelled around the country with his wife in a
camper and interviewed 350 Christian leaders. At the end of
the tour he made a discouraging observation. He said “I
found a great deal of zeal for God’s work, but very little
passion for God”.
Rev.2: …. 4 But I have this against you, that you have
abandoned the love you had at first.
34. Dangers today - “Prosperous”? Christians
Rev.3:15-17 You say, “I
am rich. I have acquired
wealth and do not need
a thing.” But you do
not realize that you
are wretched, pitiful,
poor, blind and naked
35. Prosperity in Soul
3 John 1:2 : "I wish
above all things
that you may
prosper and be in
health, even as
your soul
prospers."
37. Leanness of Soul
One year the Standard
Oil Company had a
stunningly beautiful float
in the Pasadena rose
parade. Right in the
middle of the parade,
the float ran out of gas!
38. Leanness of Soul
Psalm 106:14,15 - In the desert they gave in to their
craving; in the wilderness they put God to the test. And he
gave them their request; but sent leanness into
their soul.
39. Leanness in Soul
It’s better that God
denies something
in love than gives
something in
anger
40. The Spread of God’s word
Even larger world –
Jesus came -
God’s word
reached the worlds
Larger
world –
God’s word
reached
Israel
Small world
- God’s word
reached
individuals
Men and women of God were
vehicles, world deteriorated to
“days of Noah”
Israel was the vehicle,
Nation divided and
scattered. Temple
was destroyed and
captured
Church vehicle
Growing
“leanness” will
bring world to the
condition
of “days of Noah”
Second coming of Christ will finally end this cycle – Satan’s kingdom will be
destroyed forever and God will rule forever
42. Discussion/ Activity
It is a challenge while we wait on earth on our journey to
heaven.
• What is the soul? What is prosperity of soul? What is
leanness of soul?
• How can we truly enjoy “prosperity of soul”? Enact
scenario/s.

14. God’s Commandments
45. The OT Law
There was given hundreds of laws for the people, these
laws were divided into three phases [1]:
• Moral Laws (10 Commandments written by the finger of
God),
• Civil Laws (Dietary and Judicial also), and
• Ceremonial Laws (Sacrifices, Feast Days, etc.).
46. Summary of the Law
Matt 22:35 Then one of them, a lawyer, asked Him a
question, testing Him, and saying, 36 “Teacher, which is the
great commandment in the law?”
37 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God
with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your
mind.’38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And
the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as
yourself.’40 On these two commandments hang all the
Law and the Prophets.”
47.
48. ..the Greatest is Love
John 13:34,35 “A new
commandment I give to
you, that you love one
another; as I have
loved you, that you
also love one
another. By this all will
know that you are My
disciples, if you have
love for one another.”
49. ..the Greatest is Love
In John 21 In His last
meeting with His
disciples, Jesus says to
Peter: "Do you love
Me more than
these? Feed my
sheep!"
50. .. the Greatest is Love
Rev.2:2-5“I know your deeds, your hard work and
perseverance. I know that you cannot tolerate wicked men,
that you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are
not, and have found them false. You have persevered and
endured hardships for my name, and have not grown
weary. Yet I hold this against you. You have
forsaken your first love” - Church in Ephesus
52. The New Covenant
Jeremiah 31:31“The days are coming,” declares the Lord,
“when I will make a new covenant with the
people of Israel and with the people of Judah.32 It will
not be like the covenant I made with their ancestors when
I took them by the hand to lead them out of Egypt,
because they broke my covenant, though I was a
husband to them,”declares the Lord.
53. The New Covenant
Jeremiah 31:33 “This is the covenant I will make with the
people of Israel after that time,” declares the Lord. “I will
put my law in their minds and write it on their
hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.
34 No longer will they teach their neighbor, or say to one
another, ‘Know the Lord,’because they will all know
me, from the least of them to the
greatest,”declares the Lord. “For I will forgive their
wickedness and will remember their sins no more.”
54. Jesus raised the bar….
In the New Covenant, Jesus raised
the bar on:
• Love
• Law
• Living
55. Old Covenant vs. New covenant
Love the Lord your God
with all your heart…
Love your neighbour as
yourself
Law
Written on stone
and paper
Atoned for
deeds (Letter of
the law)
Call to be holy
Love the Lord your God
with all your heart…
Love one another as I
have loved you
Grace
Written on
hearts
Atoned for on
mind and heart
(spirit of the
law)
Call to be
disciples and
make disciples
56. Grace?
What does “you are not under
the law but grace” mean?
Romans 6: 13b ..offer
every part of yourself to
him as an instrument of
righteousness.14 For sin
shall no longer be your
master, because you are
not under the law, but under
grace.
57. Law (Sin consciousness) vs Grace (God
Consciousness)
Romans 7:6 But now, by
dying to what once
bound us, we have
been released from the
law so that we serve in the
new way of the Spirit, and
not in the old way of the
written code.
58. Law (Sin Consciousness) vs. Grace (God
Consciousness)
Grace is not:
• freedom to sin
Grace is:
• freedom from sin
59. The Law – Written on our Hearts
Psalms 119:11 - Your word have I hid in my heart,
that I might not sin against you.
Ephesians 4:23 - And be renewed in the spirit of
your minds.
Jeremiah 31:33 – “This is the covenant.. I will put my law
within them and I will write it in their hearts and will
be their God and they shall be my people.”
60. The Law – Written on our Hearts
Psalm 139:23-24
Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me
and know my thoughts! And see if there be any
grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!
Romans 1:28
And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God
gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought
not to be done.
61. The Law – Written on our Hearts
1 Corinthians 2:13-16
And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom
but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to
those who are spiritual. The natural person
does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they
are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them
because they are spiritually discerned. The spiritual
person judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no
one. “For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to
instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.
62. Spirit of the Law vs. Letter of the Law
Romans 8:5 Those who live according to the flesh have
their minds set on what the flesh desires; but
those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their
minds set on what the Spirit desires. 6 The mind
governed by the flesh is death, but the mind
governed by the Spirit is life and peace. 7 The mind
governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit
to God’s law, nor can it do so.
63. Acid test of spirit of God
Is our mind
governed by the
spirit or by the flesh?
64. Spirit of the Law vs. Letter of the Law
1 John 3:21 Dear friends, if our hearts do not
condemn us, we have confidence before God 22 and
receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his
commands and do what pleases him.
65.
66. Assurances
1 John 5:18
We know that anyone born of God does not continue
to sin; the One who was born of God keeps them
safe, and the evil one cannot harm them.
Romans 8:1
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those
who are in Christ Jesus,
67. Warnings
Rev.2:2-5. Yet I hold this against you. You have
forsaken your first love” Consider how far you have
fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do
not repent, I will come to you and remove your
lampstand from its place.
Matt. 7:22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have
we not prophesied in Your name, cast out
demons in Your name, and done many
wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to
them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who
practice lawlessness!’
68. The Great Commission
–Call to Be Disciples and Make Disciples
Matt 28:18 And Jesus came
and spoke to them, saying,
“All authority has been given
to Me in heaven and on
earth. 19 Go therefore and
make disciples of all the
nations, baptizing them in
the name of the Father and
of the Son and of the Holy
Spirit, 20 teaching them to
observe all things that I
have commanded you;
and lo, I am with you
always, even to the end of
the age.” Amen.
71. Summary
What is the difference between the old and new covenant?
• The old covenant (Torah) was for a nation and included
civil, dietary, legal, ceremonial, moral and spiritual
commands.
• The civil, dietary, legal aspects are not relevant to us, as
Jesus asked us to submit to the current Governing
authority who will take care of those
• Ceremonial practices do not outdo the inner cleansing.
While Jews may still follow them, Baptism and Holy
Communion are the sacraments Jesus instituted for us.
• The moral and spiritual commands are valid but
standards are higher as God judges the heart and the
spirit of the law.
72. Discussion
• What are some misconceptions on grace you have had?
• Given the right perspective, how would your walk with
God change?
• Enact a scenario on how grace increases your capacity to
meet the increased standards.
a proper child—Greek, "a comely child." Ac 7:20, "exceeding fair," Greek, "fair to God." The "faith" of his parents in saving the child must have had some divine revelation to rest on (probably at the time of his birth), which marked their "exceeding fair" babe as one whom God designed to do a great work by. His beauty was probably "the sign" appointed by God to assure their faith. Jamieson-Fausset-Brown Bible Commentary
History records he may have stammered due to an injury in childhood on his tongue. However Acts 7 record shows that his knowledge and action overcame his defect to the extent he was considered mighty in words and deeds. His imprudent speech to Israelite may have significantly slaughtered his confidence. This on the flip side enabled him to acquire is world famous humility.
Moses, in addition to the negative publicity, was outrightly rejected by the resort of the Israelite..”who made you are ruler over us?” ..He was groomed for this occasion and had rejection slapped on his face. He continued to face it all his life from the Israelites.
25 Moses thought that his own people would realize that God was using him to rescue them, but they did not. Acts 7
Notice – parent’s faith when they were “not afraid” of king and Moses’ faith, not afraid of the King.
Moses was chosen to be trained in the cradle of the most powerful nation – as prince, while others his age were getting mass murdered
Chosen by God
Beautiful before God
Chosen by the King’s daughter
Trained in the palace
Mighty in words and deeds(acts 7:22)
Chose God over the King
Chose to suffer with his people as opposed to enjoying fleeting pleasures of sin
Considered abuse for Christ greater than the treasures of Egypt
Left Egypt not fearing the king but endured, following the invisible God
Knew he was deliverer and assumed his people knew it as well
David too, wa s a shepherd before he was a leader – God used it as part of his training to shepherd the flock of Israel.
The Shepherd role can be seen in others as well, eg. David, Jesus.
Humility could be attributed to God’s hot and cold treatment
At the wave of his rod, the heavens descended, the earth erupted and the seas parted. On the one occasion he misused it by not trusting, God penalized him…severely
Dr Ron Charles mentions that Egypt had 90% of the world’s wealth. Israel walked away with most of it ie most of the world’s wealth in that time….
legend has it that he may have even been taken up by God under a cloud at mount Nebo from where he had a view of the promised land.

Israel’s bondage to Egypt typifies our bondage to Satan
Moses’ deliverance typifies Christ’s deliverance.

Even Mother Teresa struggled with experiencing God. “I am told God loves me — and yet the reality of darkness & coldness & emptiness is so great that nothing touches my soul.” - See more at: http://www.patheos.com/blogs/daylightatheism/2007/08/mother-teresas-loss-of-faith/#sthash.dmfWwiJX.dpuf. Even if we don’t “feel God”, it is important that our faith drives our works and that we are persistent.
Of primary importance is prosperity of soul others are secondary
J. Vernon McGee tells of an incident in the Pasadena Rose Parade. That year the Standard Oil Company had a float in this parade of parades. The float was beautiful, fully decorated with American Beauty Roses, something that J. Vernon McGee says he "shall never forget". He had not seen anything that beautiful before, nor has he seen anything as beautiful as that since that time.
The problem developed right in the middle of the parade. To everyone's surprise the float ran out of gas! A humorous story if it wasn't so applicable to the church and to our lives today!
Can you imagine that? Here, this Standard Oil Company float completely runs out of gas, unable to move, and when the crowds recognized what had happened, they began to laugh at the situation. Of all the floats that were in the parade, the Standard Oil Company float should have been the last one to run out of gas!
In fact, the float should have had enough gas for the entire parade and beyond. The problem was that someone forgot to fill the tank with gas, and there it stood, motionless, in the middle of this parade.
And J. Vernon McGee said that "As I looked at that poor, helpless float, and I heard everyone laughing, I felt sorry, because it was like the church of today. We are beautiful, decorated in style with all of our buildings, our programs, our services, and our propaganda, but we have no power. Power is what the church needs, and power is what each individual believer needs."

Mother Teresa had once commented that she has never been able to “feel” Christ. ????
