Stan Melby led an activity to make snot using glue, borax, hot water, food coloring, and other materials. The activity involved mixing glue and water in a red cup, adding borax and food coloring to hot water, and then stirring the colored mixture into the glue mixture. Participants then used their hands in a dishpan to work the mixtures together to create stretchy snot, being careful not to eat the non-edible snot.

- 1. Making “Snot” Materials: glue, borax, hot water, cold water, red cups, clear cups, measuring cups, teaspoons, stir sticks, dishpans
- 3. This activity was led by Stan Melby.
- 5. Red cup of water, stir stick, and glue go inside dishpan.
- 6. Glue and Water Mixture
- 7. Add 2 t. of borax to hot water.
- 8. Stir in a drop of food coloring.
- 9. Get ready to create the “snot”!
- 10. Stir the colored mixture into the glue mixture.
- 11. Pour it into the dishpan and work it with your hands.
- 12. Squeeze the liquid out until it feels just right.
- 13. Fun and Messy!
- 14. Stretchy “Snot”
- 15. Do not eat your “snot”.
- 16. Bag your “snot” in a sealable sandwich bag.
- 17. Clean up the table and dishpans.
