Oina is Romania's national sport that was officially recognized in 2014. It is similar to baseball and involves two teams of 11 players each, with one team batting and the other fielding across a rectangular pitch divided into zones. The roles switch at half time. Oina dates back to 1932 with the founding of the Romanian Oină Federation to organize the traditional sport.
