This document profiles several of the greatest Czech athletes of all time including Jan Železný, the world record holder in javelin throw who won Olympic gold in 1992, 1996 and 2000; Ivan Lendl who was the number 1 tennis player in the world from 1985-1990; Pavel Nedvěd, regarded as one of the best midfielders of his generation and awarded European Footballer of the Year in 2003; Roman Šebrle who set the decathlon world record of 9,026 points; Dominik Hašek, known as "The Dominator" who had a legendary NHL goaltending career; and Martina Navrátilová who is considered the greatest tennis player of all time
