This study examined the crossover of daily work engagement between colleagues. The researchers hypothesized that the trait of extraversion and the frequency of daily communication between colleagues would impact work engagement and job performance. The study involved 124 participants in 62 colleague dyads who completed surveys over 5 workdays. Results showed that extraversion, daily work engagement, and frequency of communication positively influenced a colleague's daily work engagement and performance. Thus, work engagement can crossover between employees on a daily basis, and this effect is strengthened by more frequent interpersonal communication, especially for extraverted employees.
This document summarizes a study on the daily job demands of recovery and resources. It hypothesizes that work engagement and performance are influenced by job demands, resources during the workday, and recovery. The study involved a 10-day diary survey of 53 assembly line workers, measuring these variables. Results found that high recovery moderated the impact of high job demands on both engagement and performance, such that high recovery buffered against low engagement and performance. In conclusion, recovery is important for maintaining engagement and performance in the face of high job demands.

This document summarizes an evidence-based model of work engagement. It discusses that:
1) Job resources such as social support, feedback, skill variety and autonomy are the main predictors of work engagement. These resources are particularly important for engagement when job demands are high.

3) Engaged employees are more productive, willing to go the extra mile, and transfer their engagement to colleagues. Engagement positively impacts performance.
