It is the second largest country in South America and eighth in the world by land area and the
largest among Spanish-speaking nations. Argentina is subject to a variety of climates. The north
of the country, including latitudes in and below the Tropic of Capricorn, is characterized by very
hot, humid summers with mild drier winters, and is subject to periodic droughts. Central Argentina
has hot summers with thunder storms (in western Argentina producing some of the world's largest
hail), and cool winters. The southern regions have warm summers and cold winters with heavy
snow fall, especially in mountainous zones. Higher elevations at all latitudes experience cooler
conditions.
4. CHILE

It is a country in South America occupying along, narrow coastal strip between the Andes mountains
to the east and the Pacific Ocean to the west. The climate of Chile comprises a wide range of weather
conditions across a large geographic scale, extending across 38 degrees in latitude, making
generalizations difficult. According to the Köppen system, Chile within its borders hosts at least seven
major climatic subtypes, ranging from desert in the north, to alpine tundra and glaciers in the east and
south east, humid subtropical in Easter Island, Oceanic in the south and Mediterranean climate in
central Chile. There are four seasons in most of the country: summer (December to February), autumn
(March to May), winter (June to August), and spring (September to November).

relatively mild. Located entirely within the temperate zone Uruguay
has a climate that is fairly uniform nation wide. Seasonal variations
are pronounced, but extremes in temperature are rare. Uruguay has
a largely uniform temperature throughout the year, summer being
tempered by winds off the Atlantic, and severe cold in winter is
unknown. The heaviest precipitation occurs during the autumn
months, although more frequent rainy spells occur in winter.
