The German Christians wanted to align Protestantism more closely with Nazi ideology by removing Jewish elements from the Bible and adopting Nazi rituals and symbols. The Confessional Church broke away in 1934 to oppose Nazi interference in theology. Some groups, like the German Faith Movement, sought to replace Christianity entirely with a new Nazi pagan religion. Initially many Protestants supported the Nazis due to shared social conservatism, but tensions grew as the Nazis attempted to coordinate the churches under the Reich Bishop. The Confessional Church resisted this Gleichschaltung and grew in opposition to Nazi policies on Jews and euthanasia. However, most churches avoided open confrontation with Hitler for fear of starting a Kulturkampf.
This document outlines a curriculum designed to teach information literacy skills to teenagers through engagement with a primary text (William Blake's Songs of Experience) and hands-on projects. Over 10 weekly sessions, students will build skills in critical analysis, discussion, and use of library resources as they closely read and discuss the poems, keep journals responding to prompts, and collaboratively create a zine. The goals are to situate information literacy learning in a meaningful context, foster higher-order thinking, encourage democratic discussion, and build community between students and the library.
The document proposes a curriculum called FILTER that uses a text-focused approach to promote information literacy skills. FILTER ties information literacy learning to close readings, discussions, and creative production based on literary works. The goal is to internalize skills through situated learning experiences and empower teenagers as library users. Participants will engage with materials, discuss readings, research authors, and create collaborative "texts." FILTER aims to facilitate relationships between readers and texts and present information literacy as an iterative creative process. The curriculum's effectiveness will be evaluated through surveys, interviews, participation observations, and library statistics.

Stalin rose to power in the Soviet Union through a combination of factors. He carefully maneuvered himself up the party ranks with appointments from Lenin. As General Secretary, he consolidated power by appointing allies. After Lenin's death, Stalin further isolated opponents by allying with different factions and turning them against each other, removing Trotsky, the Left, and the Right from power. Through ruthless manipulation, Stalin was able to eliminate all political rivals and become the unchallenged leader of the Soviet Union by the early 1930s.
