What does it mean to live for the larger story of your life? Author and speaker Os Hillman found that there are 6 unique stages God often takes a person through to fulfill the larger story of their life.
The sermon discusses learning to avoid the snare of the devil through adultery and lustful thoughts. It outlines three goals: 1) To be alerted to the devil's snares. 2) To learn how to overcome the devil's snares. 3) To learn from others' mistakes and successes in dealing with the devil's snares. The sermon provides biblical examples of people who struggled or overcame temptation, like Job, Samson, and discusses applying spiritual armor from Ephesians to resist the devil.

This document provides an overview of a master class on overcoming through intercessory prayer and community transformation. Some key points:
1) Intercessory prayer is spiritual warfare against principalities and powers, as we wrestle not against flesh and blood.
2) Man plays a key role in fulfilling God's plan and will on earth, and God has given authority and responsibility to mankind through Jesus.
3) Effective intercession requires understanding our roles and responsibilities as both kings and priests, working in the inner court through spiritual warfare and the outer court through our public callings.
4) Transforming communities requires apostolic leadership, intercessors, and marketplace leaders working together in spiritual authority through prayer
This document provides a summary of a sermon given at First Baptist Church in Jackson, Mississippi on February 9, 2020. The sermon discussed Moses' second address in Deuteronomy, specifically chapters 5 through 18. It covered the Ten Commandments, instructions to obey God and prosper, warnings about destroying idolatry, clean and unclean animals, and the promise that God would raise up a prophet like Moses to speak God's words. The summary highlighted the discussion of spiritism being forbidden and the prophecy in Deuteronomy 18 that God would raise another prophet from among the Israelites.
This document is a sermon summary from Romans 1:18-32 discussing how all people are guilty of sin and suppressing the truth about God. It provides historical context about the book of Romans and outlines Paul's argument that God's wrath is revealed against the unrighteousness of men. It then summarizes Paul's examples of how God "gave them over" to various sins and depraved minds as judgment. The sermon speculates on why Paul specifically calls out homosexuality and argues it demonstrates the suppression of God's truth revealed in gender. It closes by emphasizing that all have sinned but can be saved through faith in Christ.

Do you know your God-given inheritance? Os Hillman reveals what the Bible says about how a person can receive their spiritual and physical inheritance. Presented at the Jubilee Conference in Denver, June 2015.
The document discusses how Christians have an unfair disadvantage when battling spiritual forces alone through human effort. It explains that the Holy Spirit provides an advantage by dwelling within believers, allowing Jesus to be present with all Christians at once. Receiving the Holy Spirit after Jesus' ascension was actually better for believers than Jesus being physically present, as the Spirit allows him to be everywhere simultaneously and convict the world of sin.

God sees work differently than is commonly understood. God views work as ministry and a way to fulfill one's calling and destiny. The local church should equip and train believers to see their work in this way and destroy the works of the devil in their spheres of influence. However, many churches fail to adequately train and commission believers for their work, instead focusing ministry only within the four walls of the church.
1) The church in Antioch was fasting and praying when the Holy Spirit called Barnabas and Saul to a special mission. 2) The church ordained Barnabas and Saul through fasting, prayer, and laying hands on them. 3) Barnabas and Saul were then sent out by the Holy Spirit to proclaim the word of God, first traveling to Cyprus and preaching in Jewish synagogues in Salamis with John Mark's assistance.

God has a prophetic purpose for praise and worship in the church. Amos prophesied that God would restore the tabernacle of David, which was a place of praise and worship before the ark of the covenant. With every move of God, He has restored different elements of worship and raised up songwriters to bring forth new songs embodying the truths of that movement. Today, God is raising up prophetic songwriters to bring forth "war songs of Zion" to transform the church into the fighting army He has called it to be.
This summary provides an overview of the key points from a sermon on overcoming guilt. The sermon discusses the differences between the Old Covenant sacrifices, which did not remove guilt, and the sacrifice of Jesus through His blood, which removes guilt permanently. It explores the nature of guilt and how to be freed from it through understanding Jesus' substitutionary death, facing feelings of guilt honestly with God's help, and confessing and repenting of sins.

This article discusses God's commandment of evangelism and whether he truly means what he says about it. It addresses two key questions: 1) Does God have anything to say about evangelism? 2) Does God want man to be saved? Regarding the first, the article notes Jesus' Great Commission in Matthew and Mark, commanding the disciples to go preach the gospel to the world. It argues this applies to all Christians today. On the second, it cites passages showing God's desire is for all people to be saved and come to repentance. The challenge for Christians, then, is not whether God means what he says, but whether we will follow his command to spread the good news of salvation through evangelism.
This document provides an overview and summary of Psalm 32. It begins with background on King David's sins with Bathsheba and Uriah, which led to his writing of Psalms 32 and 51 in confession. The summary then examines four Hebrew words for sin, three words for forgiveness, and how guilt affects us. It discusses how we must confess sins to God and forgive others as God forgives us. Total forgiveness is defined as having no negative feelings towards an offender and praying for God to bless them. The document closes with an invitation to next week's sermon and details on God's plan of salvation through Jesus Christ.
The document discusses God's view of work and how work became negatively viewed over time. It provides examples from the Bible of Jesus and Paul modeling work as ministry. The key points are that work itself is a form of ministry and worship when done with excellence for God rather than men. Successful change agents in history are provided as examples of using one's work to solve problems and spread the gospel.
This sermon discusses Paul's letter to the Romans and the concept of human guilt and sinfulness. It summarizes Romans 1:18-32 where Paul outlines how humanity suppresses the truth about God and engages in unrighteousness. It then provides speculation on why Paul specifically denounces homosexuality. Finally, it presents the Christian message of hope and salvation through faith in Jesus Christ, who offers forgiveness and eternal life.

This document summarizes a sermon given at First Baptist Church in Jackson, Mississippi on Matthew 7:13-27. The sermon discusses Jesus' teaching on the narrow and wide paths, and how to discern true and false teachings by their fruits. It emphasizes that entering the narrow gate of salvation requires accepting Jesus by faith, and that one's eternal destiny depends on whether their foundation is built on the rock of Jesus or the shifting sand. The sermon applies these teachings by encouraging believers to remain steadfast in their faith and reminding unbelievers that they can accept Jesus as their savior at any time to secure eternal life.
This document provides a summary of Mark 3:20-35 from a sermon given at First Baptist Church in Jackson, Mississippi. It discusses Jesus being accused of casting out demons through the power of Satan. Jesus refutes this claim through parables, explaining that Satan would not work to defeat his own kingdom. The document also examines the unforgivable sin of blasphemy against the Holy Spirit and defines Jesus' family as those who do God's will. It concludes with the plan of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.
This document provides a summary of a sermon given at First Baptist Church in Jackson, Mississippi on January 24, 2016. The sermon focuses on Matthew 7:13-27 and discusses the two paths that Jesus says people can choose - the narrow path that leads to life or the wide path that leads to destruction. It encourages believers to discern false teachings by examining the fruits or results, and warns that not everyone who claims to know Jesus or do works in his name will enter the kingdom of heaven but only those who obey God. The sermon closes by emphasizing the importance of building one's life on the unshifting foundation of God's word.

It then discusses how Seventh-day Adventists have certain distinctive doctrines around the investigative judgment and the authority of Ellen G. White. The document provides commentary on a Bible passage used by Adventists and critiques how they have altered the meaning in certain Bible versions. Finally, it discusses the plural use of "Sabbath" in the New Testament and how this relates to the Seventh-day observance. The overall document examines Sabbath theology from both an Adventist and non-Adventist perspective.
The Sanhedrin, the high Jewish council, questioned Peter and John about how they healed a man. Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, boldly proclaimed that it was through the power of Jesus Christ. Though uneducated, Peter and John amazed the council with their confidence from being with Jesus. The council could not deny the miracle occurred but wanted to stop the apostles' teaching. When commanded to stop preaching, Peter and John refused, saying they must obey God rather than men. The council threatened them further but let them go as the people praised God for what happened.

Jesus is questioned about his authority by the Jewish leaders. He responds by asking them about John the Baptist's authority. When they are unable to answer, Jesus refuses to tell them by what authority he acts. He then tells a parable about a vineyard owner who sends servants to collect fruit from the vineyard but the tenants kill the servants. When the owner sends his son, they kill him too. Jesus indicates that God will judge Israel for rejecting him. The religious leaders try to trap Jesus on the issue of paying taxes to Caesar but he avoids the trap with a response about rendering to Caesar and God.

Genesis 3 describes humanity's fall from grace in the Garden of Eden through Satan's temptation of Adam and Eve to eat the forbidden fruit. God punishes humanity for their disobedience by cursing the ground and instituting physical death. He also curses Satan, promising future conflict between Satan's seed and the woman's seed that will result in Christ defeating Satan. The chapter establishes the fundamental problem of sin and separation from God in humanity and sets the stage for God's plan of salvation through Christ.
This document provides a summary of a sermon given on Deuteronomy 6:1-25. The sermon focused on the greatest commandment to love God with all your heart, as well as other key passages in Deuteronomy that Jesus quoted when being tempted. It discusses how righteousness has always come through faith, not works, and how the law was meant to point to Christ. Key points covered include the importance of obedience, not testing God, and remembering God's deliverance from Egypt.
1) Jesus discusses signs of the end times and his second coming in response to the disciples' questions. He describes wars, famines, earthquakes and persecution as the beginning of birth pains.
2) Jesus compares the days before his return to the days of Noah, when people were unconcerned until the flood came suddenly. He emphasizes the importance of being prepared and alert.
3) The lesson concludes by encouraging believers to faithfully carry out their mission of witnessing until Christ's return, which could happen at any time without warning signs. Believers should always be ready through righteous living.

The Israelites grumbled against Moses in the desert, complaining that they had no food or water. God provided manna from heaven for them to eat each morning. When the people traveled to Rephidim, there was no water. They quarreled with Moses. God instructed Moses to strike a rock, and water came out for the people to drink. Moses appointed leaders to help manage the people at the suggestion of his father-in-law.
Genesis 3 describes humanity's fall from grace in the Garden of Eden. Satan, disguised as a serpent, tempts Eve to eat fruit from the forbidden tree by sowing seeds of doubt in God's word. Eve then gives the fruit to Adam, and they immediately realize they are naked and ashamed. God questions Adam and Eve about their actions, but they blame each other and the serpent. God curses the serpent and prophecies that Eve's offspring (Jesus Christ) will one day defeat Satan. Their disobedience separates them from God and introduces sin, fear, and shame into the world.
The document is a sermon on Mark 3:20-35 from First Baptist Church in Jackson, Mississippi. It discusses Jesus being accused of casting out demons through the power of Satan. Jesus rebuts this claim with parables, stating a kingdom or house divided cannot stand. He says all sins can be forgiven except blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. The sermon defines this as persistent rejection of the Holy Spirit's testimony about Jesus. It examines Jesus' family coming to intervene and his response that his true family is those who do God's will.
Prophecies of prophets about Israel.pptxSabry Shaheen
Moses warned that the Israelites would rebel after his death and distort God's teachings. Prophets like Isaiah and Jeremiah also warned of religious distortion and false prophets. The original teachings emphasized conditional blessings for obedience and curses for disobedience, equal treatment of Israelites and foreigners, and justice for all. However, scribes later added teachings that favored Israelites over foreigners and justified violence. They no longer taught the true message but distorted words to serve their own interests.
Presentation - The Gospel of Life: Catholic Social Teaching & the Death PenaltyMichael Stone
This document provides an overview of Catholic teachings on capital punishment from biblical times to the present. It discusses passages from the Old and New Testaments related to killing and punishment. While some passages supported the death penalty, Jesus advocated for mercy, forgiveness and nonviolence. The stories of Cain, Abel and Paul's conversion show God's mercy toward killers. Though the Church historically allowed capital punishment in limited cases, teachings evolved to oppose it in the 20th century as alternatives to capital punishment became available.

It then analyzes what the Bible says about humanity's status and role, finding that we are made in God's image and crowned with glory and dominion over creation.

The document discusses a Christian's relationship to the law. It argues that Christians are not under the Mosaic law but under the law of Christ. It asserts that the Bible does not divide the Mosaic law into civil, ceremonial and moral categories and that Christians are freed from the law through Jesus' fulfillment of it. Christians' obligation is to love God and their neighbor, fulfilling the whole law.

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375

19. Richard Dawkins started a
controversy when a woman said, "I
honestly don't know what I would
do if I were pregnant with a kid with
Down Syndrome. Real ethical
dilemma," and he responded with,
• "Abort it and try again. It would be immoral to bring it into the
world if you have the choice." Dawkins later defended his
advice:"If your morality is based, as mine is, on a desire to increase
the sum of happiness and reduce the suffering, the decision to
deliberately give birth to a Down baby, when you have the choice
to abort it early in the pregnancy, might actually be immoral from
the point of view of the child's own welfare."
• The child's welfare? The child will be thankful it was aborted? The
child would later be offended it wasn't murdered?
20. RICHARD DAWKINS: "ABORT IT AND TRY
AGAIN." Pastor Scott LaPierre
• What really surprised me though was the amount of outrage
Dawkins' comment received, because here's the truth: if you believe
in evolution you SHOULD agree with him! You should say, "We need
to think about what's best for the advancement of the human race
and that means removing from the gene pool those individuals
threatening its progress...and if we're honest, there's no greater
threat than those born with genetic disorders." And here's another
painful, but equally true reality: this thinking isn't very far removed
from Hitler's desire to eliminate the inferior people
orUntermenschen (German for subhuman): Jews, Gypsies, Slavs, etc.,
to allow the superior Aryan Herrenvolk (Master Race) to develop.
• Dawkins mentioned morality: he said it would be immoral to give
birth to the child. But if you don't believe the Bible, you CAN'T argue
with him! If you disagree with him apart from Scripture what is your
argument based on? It's based on absolutely
21. RICHARD DAWKINS: "ABORT IT AND TRY
AGAIN." Pastor Scott LaPierre
• nothing more than your opinion! In the absence of Scripture,
morality is completely subjective. While people try to identify
right and wrong or good and evil without the Bible, their
positions are based entirely on opinion. When one opinion
differs from another, how is it determined which opinion is
correct? Is it determined by which opinion sounds better? Is it
determined by which opinion can find the most similar
opinions? If the Bible isn't your authority on morality, the only
weight behind your case is how well it can be
argued...including debates about murdering babies. In other
words, in the absence of Scripture, there is no argument
against murdering babies; the absence of Scripture puts us in
the days of the Judges when "Every man did what was right in
his own eyes."

55. Abortion, Subjective Morality, Down’s
Syndrome, Birth Defects, Mental Illness
• RICHARD DAWKINS: "ABORT IT AND TRY AGAIN."
•
• Pastor Scott LaPierre
•
• Richard Dawkins started a controversy when a woman said, "I honestly don't know what I would do if I were pregnant with a kid with Down Syndrome.
Real ethical dilemma," and he responded with, "Abort it and try again. It would be immoral to bring it into the world if you have the choice." Dawkins
later defended his advice:"If your morality is based, as mine is, on a desire to increase the sum of happiness and reduce the suffering, the decision to
deliberately give birth to a Down baby, when you have the choice to abort it early in the pregnancy, might actually be immoral from the point of view of
the child's own welfare." The child's welfare? The child will be thankful it was aborted? The child would later be offended it wasn't murdered?
•
• What really surprised me though was the amount of outrage Dawkins' comment received, because here's the truth: if you believe in evolution you
SHOULD agree with him! You should say, "We need to think about what's best for the advancement of the human race and that means removing from
the gene pool those individuals threatening its progress...and if we're honest, there's no greater threat than those born with genetic disorders." And
here's another painful, but equally true reality: this thinking isn't very far removed from Hitler's desire to eliminate the inferior people
orUntermenschen (German for subhuman): Jews, Gypsies, Slavs, etc., to allow the superior Aryan Herrenvolk (Master Race) to develop.
•
• Dawkins mentioned morality: he said it would be immoral to give birth to the child. But if you don't believe the Bible, you CAN'T argue with him! If you
disagree with him apart from Scripture what is your argument based on? It's based on absolutely nothing more than your opinion! In the absence of
Scripture, morality is completely subjective. While people try to identify right and wrong or good and evil without the Bible, their positions are based
entirely on opinion. When one opinion differs from another, how is it determined which opinion is correct? Is it determined by which opinion sounds
better? Is it determined by which opinion can find the most similar opinions? If the Bible isn't your authority on morality, the only weight behind your
case is how well it can be argued...including debates about murdering babies. In other words, in the absence of Scripture, there is no argument against
murdering babies; the absence of Scripture puts us in the days of the Judges when "Every man did what was right in his own eyes."

56. Waters Above, Solar System, Sun Moon
• Are Science and Creation Compatible?
• Think the story of creation, as described in the Book of Genesis, would hold water if subjected to scientific scrutiny?
“Our findings show that a significant fraction of our Solar System’s water, the most-fundamental ingredient to fostering life, is older than the Sun,”
said Conel Alexander of the Carnegie Institution for Science, who took part in the research.
The verses in Genesis talk about water, too—specifically, about what some say is the division between that water in space and the water here on
Earth: “And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament.”
That was on Day 2—predating the sun by two days, according to the biblical order of creation. (Or so it seems at first glance.)
What are religious Jews to make of such parallels between scientific findings and the biblical account of creation? That depends on whom you ask, of
course, with answers ranging, in essence, from “nothing” to “a great deal.”
“These are totally separate things,” says Rabbi Yehoyada Amir, who heads the Israel Council of Reform Rabbis and is a professor of Jewish thought at
Hebrew Union College. It doesn’t even matter if science supports religious tenets, in his view: the Bible is here to teach us values and the role of
mankind in the world, not to give us an accurate play-by-play of how the universe began.
But Nathan Aviezer, an Orthodox physics professor at Bar-Ilan University who grew up in Detroit and has written several books about the interplay of
science and religion, argues that contemporary cosmology has gone a long way toward clarifying the previously opaque opening verses of the Torah.
Take that seemingly confusing part about water beneath the heavens and water above, for instance. In the past, Bible readers had to shrug off that
heavenly water as esoterica that was beyond their understanding. Now we know that there is water in space—or, in the Bible’s words, “above the
firmament.” The current findings provide a further boost to scientific support for a literal understanding of Day 2 of creation, says Aviezer.
“It corresponds even more strongly with what is written in the Bible,” says Aviezer. “It’s good for the Jews.”

The theory of evolution is now considered a scientific fact throughout the academic world. Yet when faced with real scientific scrutiny, large holes are
exposed and usually answered with one word: “time.” Those believing in evolution simply claim that the earth is millions, even billions of years old and
evolved by itself.
Will man find the answer in his desperate search for the origin of life? The answer is yes, and the record is found in Revelation 6:15-16, “And the
kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid
themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that
sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb.” That will be the end of the religion of evolution.
