2. The
Concept
One of Europe’s largest Outdoor Exhibitions and Agricultural Trade Shows the National
Ploughing Championships attracts on average 1,100 exhibitors and 189,000 visitors.
The Ploughing Championships is going from strength to strength thanks primarily to a
strong exhibitor base from agricultural and associated industries.
Castrol have been exhibiting at this event for a number of years and for the last three
years has contracted Venues Event Management to coordinate the set up of the exhibition
onsite.
2010/2011 the Castrol exhibit used a simple pop-up stand with a few brochures for
exhibitor to use and exhibit from. The idea for 2012 was to develop the original concept
and make it more interactive for visitors.

5. Verdict
“Having managed this event personally for the last two years, knowing when things were
going to turn up really helped with the set up of the exhibit.
As we were able to really develop the exhibit this year the client saw an increase in footfall
over the three days and the distributors were pleased with the look and feel of the exhibit.
Our main challenge for this event is the restriction on space, we have had to use this cleverly
and in a creative manner to ensure the client can maximise potential. As a result we are
already in talks to develop further for 2013 and look at the possibilities of using a larger
exhibit space.”
