A teacup recalls its difficult journey from a lump of clay through the potter's shaping, firing, and finishing processes. At each step, when in pain from being molded, spun, burned in the oven, sanded, or painted, the potter would smile and say "Not yet!" Finally, when revealed its finished beautiful form, the potter explained that each step was necessary for the teacup to have personality, color, strength, and to survive.
